I finally mustered up the courage of publishing the first chapter of my original novel called Miss Clementine. I've had so many chapters drafted for different novels of mine, and I finally decided to publish one of them. Here it is: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/21009/miss-clementine Please kindly let me know what you think~
One chapter is not really enough, but it's well-written and interesting. A big plus for the identity and means of death of the MC (haven't read something similar for quite some time). All in all, good enough for me to keep an eye on your novel~
As a fellow writer, the only advice I can give you is to not focus so much on what others think of your novel. You only have one chapter published, it doesn't matter what people think of it. Because you cannot ask them to judge your novel based on one chapter. That's what most writers and readers believe wrongly. A novel cannot be judged based on the first 10 chapters, so just keep going. You'll see yourself whether your story is any good or not.
Yep, you should start questioning yourself, are you writing for you or for others? A good book comes out of one's soul. Just stop giving fucks and try your best.
Wait is Clementine a family name or a first. Because it was said that "This is the fable of how Miss Clementine, the last of the Clementines"
It's a family name(last name). When people address one another with a prefix, it is usually followed by last name(at least in this time period).
Yep. There'll always be haters. Still, constructive criticism is always good to have, although more often than not it won't be constructive...
