basically train your body first (vessel) then train/refine your qi. then your mind (spiritual thingy)

    that is the common cultivation

What if every novel is the same? Then we would know everything already? Convenient, no?

There's no real way to collect all the types of cultivation and boil it down to one system, without making every step be like 'Rank X : Be able to do A, B , or C within O time, or have a soul spirit HH cm big or manifest your attributes KJ m outwards or being able to control R types or U amount of items' etc.

Way too complex, and then imagine having to face off against someone, and there's like atleast 6-10 methods of keeping track of their cultivation level, and you have to 'translate' yours into another measurement to compare to theirs to figure out who's stronger and so on

Ive always enjoyed novels where there were multiple cultivation paths and all of them had strengths and weaknesses with no particular cultivation method being the best. ISSTH had traditional cultivation and also body cultivation, although the latter was never the main focus. Coiling Dragon had the classic warrior vs mage struggle, but they both became irrelevant later on at the Deity-level and everything was focused around the soul. But Desolate Era had Body Refining, Ki Refining, and Heartforce cultivators, and all three were thoroughly developed to the highest levels. World of Cultivation also had the xiuzhe, yao, and mo, and the MC could actually cultivate all three paths of the body, mind, and spirit.

I also like it when the attributes are able to be chosen rather than be fixed at birth because of bloodline, spirit roots, comprehension ability, etc. In novels like Spirit Realm, Lord of all Realms, Upgrade Specialist in Another World, you could choose the attribute(s) you want to cultivate rather than have it be fixed in place like say in Heavenly Jewel Change. Probably the closest to my ideal setting is Warlock of the Magus World, where there were so many paths/professions. And they werent just sporadically put into the story for variety's sake, as the cultivation systems were suited to each particular worlds environment.
