This was a random thing I was wondering, and NUF is the only place that I know that does anonymous polls so... (actually, does anybody know any other sites that do anonymous polls?) Poll topic: Have you ever pretended to be the opposite sex online? In some online spaces, websites give you the option so saying whether you are male or female on the profile page. In some online games, you are allowed to choose a male or female character. While it's not uncommon for people to choose the opposite sex as a temporary joke or simply because they like how the avatar looks (in games), it's a whole another level of dedication to actually intentionally mislead/pretend you are other sex when communicating with others online. My question is how common is it for people to do something like that? And for what reasons? The poll is totally anonymous! EDIT: I messed up the yes/no options so pretend that it says "no" where is should
I'm a proud cross-gender player. Not because im tryna trap some unexpected horny male youth, but because I aint tryna see a damn male on my screen 24/7.
I remember guys used to use female avatars on RuneScape to get stuff, works both ways. -not speaking from experience.
I’m female and I’ve played male avatars in games, but never pretended to be male. I always made it pretty clear that I am a woman if there was ever a question.
Ive done many things like jumping out of buildings and moving vehicles but never tried to pretend be another gender one of my biggest fears being sucked in game gender bent
I'm a guy, although I have female characters in games (like in mmo rpgs) I've never really introduced myself a girl Although I guess that's just mainly because I use those extra characters as free bag space. On the other hand, I have a female friend who's always picking male characters & male IGN, she would also evade any questions about her gender in game, mainly because she got stalked before by a guy she met in a online game which turned for the worst & scared her into picking girl characters. But now that she's using male characters, she had A LOT of experience dealing with "e-girls" who thought she's a dude & tried to honey trap her into giving them a sht ton of money.
I always play as both gender if I have a choice. Or I play the gender that has the name I want that is available. Law/male, Lucresia/female. I am anti-social even in online game so I have never act as the opposite gender while playing as the opposite gender.
I've done it a few times, mmorpg characters have sometimes more options of modifications in the female side and characters look good on it. I've pretended for obtaining things too... not that it really worked 'coz servers never had that many people or I just solo'ed
