Something interesting to note, for those who is not familiar with Chinese writing. There’s two forms of Chinese, one being Traditional (the original version) and one being Simplified. I’ve always known about the two types (Traditional and Simplified), and today, I just found something interesting. That’s in the word LOVE. If you look at this picture, this is the Chinese word for “Love”. The one on the left is the Traditional (Original) version, and the one on the right is the Simplified version. To put this in simpler terms, if you take notes of the characters that form the word “Love”, you’ll see why the Traditional form is better: 愛 (Traditional) have the word 心 (heart) in it, and I find that to carry more meaningful since when you love someone, you love them with your heart. I also find that romantic too And now moving on to: 爱 (Simplified), have the word 友 in it, and this word is “Friend”, and I can pretty much see why that post/picture was made. They are both the Chinese word for “Love” and they both carry the same meaning, read the same way, but the characters that form that word is different. Personally for me, I always love the traditional form to the word Love 愛 better, because it has the word 心 (heart) in it.
Theirs a question I would like to ask. Have any of the Gusu Lan disciples in the Yi city arc, called Wei Wuxian the yiling patriarch.
No... Was it not Xue Yang who repeatedly kept calling him "yiling laozu"? Are the Juniors supposed to know who he is? Haha I remember sizhui calling him "mo qianbei"
Thank u Also sorry I ment when they refer to past Wei Wuxian ( that if they even talk about Wei Wuxian ) do they call him Wei Wuxian or the yinling patriarch.
Yes, your right, my mistake, Lan Jingyi is indeed the cutest. Cuz the fluffiest pure soul to ever have existed in this novel world is WEN NING for the win If it's before they found out about Wei's identity then I think the young disciples only mentioned: "YiLing Laozu" in passing. Sort of mentioning him every now and then, cuz they grew up hearing his "terrifying" stories, but they never associated Wei with them since his in MXY's body.
This is random of me but I'm sorry my Hetalia senses are tingling ♡˖꒰ᵕ༚ᵕ⑅꒱ But, from this, I can clearly see how Japan's characters are a super suupperr simplified version of Chinese characters. These characters mean the same thing in Japan 心 (heart) & 友 (Friend), kokoro & tomo, I'm like a massive Hetalia fan so my inner me wishing China & Japan can be bros again is screaming. ...Which is never going to happen in the long run cuz reality is harsh and the past is painful....
Yup that’s what I ment thank u. Glad we agree Lan Jingyi the cutest Spoiler: Image {} Weny Bear is cute though! this u and him.
Ahhh, yeah, I see what you mean. I haven't really touched on the language Japanese, to the same extent as I do with Chinese, because I don't know, I feel more kin-towards Chinese than Japanese (even when I love Japanese too). I guess because Chinese, I only need to choose whether to learn Traditional or Simplify, whereas for Japanese, you not only have to learn, Hiragana, Katagana, but also Kanji, so it's a long and difficult process, and from what I know, some of the Kanji(Chinese Words), Japanese borrowed/used for their language, doesn't mean the same thing in Japanese when compared to Chinese, so it's confusing when you think about it For me though, I personally love Traditional Chinese better since it carry the original meaning to the word when it was first formed, than compared to it being simplified which lost it's original meaning. I don't have anything against Simplified when I made that post haha, I just feel like, it would be so much easier if we just stick to the original version to when the language was formed, so everyone just learn 1 version instead of choosing between the two version, because it's confusing imo.
Thank you for your informative post! Shall look forward to an elaborate chat on this at some later ocassion.
Fair enough~ I was exposed more to the Japanese language so my brain tends to ease up learning their characters than compared to the Chinese characters. I have trouble with Kanji even to this day, so I imagine I would have a whole of a tougher time trying to learn even the simplified version of Chinese characters, traditional version would fry up my brain. But, in terms of listening & speaking I have fun with both languages. I used to live in Singapore so I got used to hearing Chinese there, and when I moved to another country I got introduced to Japanese, plus anime & reading raw versions of manga helped. Hahaha! Languages sure are fun~ I'm jealous of my parents cuz they know how to speak more languages, I swear they had a far better education system in their days in terms of learning other cultures.
