My intro into female protagonists (besides genderbender) was through slice of life JPs like Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear. I’m really glad I did start reading them because they typically have better plots and characters. It’s also vastly expanded my range of potential reads. I’m even now editing for a female MC novel (shameless promo: Space and Rebirth: The Favored Genius Doctor and Businesswoman on Meh Translations). I recommend if you still having trouble getting into it to start with Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear. Slice-of-life, light read, isekai, cute story, and no romance. There’s also a manga(use mangadex.org please, it’s a legit site with no ads and supports the community). Then you can probably move on to things like Reika-sama and Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter. For CN, it would definitely be Side Character Transmigrations and The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady.
