Exactly, and I'm glad I'm not the only minority in here . And I agree with the additional points that both of you put in. As you @AngryEggplant said how Wei Ying views himself as underserving, I do see that is how he sees himself as. Especially with all the things/experiences he's been through. Still, he's someone who hides his sadness/pain behind that smile < and I feel sympathetic towards him for that > So it's not hard for me to understand why Wei Ying will doubt someone like Lan Zhan will be interested and love him the same way that Wei Ying have now come to love him. I am extremely thankful to LXC for revealing this to Wei Ying because it helped Wei Ying realize things from a third person perspectives. His feelings is already there, but he just needs that final push for him to realize something he wants to believe is true but is too afraid of hearing that answer is not what he hoped to hear, and LXC anger from his perspective is understandable, since he cares about his brother Lan Zhan. So no, I don't hate LXC for telling Wei Ying all that, on the contrary, I'm thankful of him for telling him all this, because he really did help make Wangxian canon, otherwise, who knows when these two will finally confess to each other (lol)
@Sauling @AngryEggplant @LoveManga was putting all of your analysis on the Directory Post & arranging them. Wei so far has the most analysis being done on him, the second one being Cheng and third is JGY. Whether in the GDC world or in our reality Wei is always number one ❤♫
Wow. Good thing we have this Directory post, thanks for arranging these analysis then. It's good ref for future topics. For me personally, Weiying will always be my no.1 ❤️
Yup poor Wei was always reminded of and labelled as the son of a servant (especially after he became the yiling laozu) who bit the hand that fed him (the jiangs)
Now that you've mentioned it people never stopped calling him the "Son of a Servant" I guess its the same with JGY even after he became the chief cultivator he was still the "Son of a Prostitute." I'd honestly be so depressed if I lived in a society like this, where I am always referred to as "Daughter of a Whatever my parent's job/title is"
Exactly but tbh it does happen in the real world a lot too in all societies no matter how forward or developed considering how judgemental, critical and picky peeps are about certain things they don't like, understand or refuse to accept .... That's why I love this novel (other than our beloved otp Wangxian) it's story has a very realitic feel portraying the happenings of the real world as they happen be it in ancient or modern time (some things never change) like how rumours, slandering and hearsay ruins the life of a person and to what extent for Wei it resulted in his first death
True that. As much as I absolutely detest the society portrayed in gdc, I can't deny the authenticity of its portrayal to real-life societies is an amazing read. It pains me to realise that real life isn't at all much different but a tiny part of me likes to believe that unlike the gdc society where the majority of them have "crowd mentality" we in real life at least have some rationality in us, to think for ourselves, and judge for ourselves.
Well we all like to hope for the best you and me all of us......... And true there are many who have some rationality in them but there are also many who don't but anyway let's not get too serious here as it's a fun thread....... I can't really believe that they even said about wei ying that he 'deflowered' many women and our guy is here like "helloooooooooo! Excuse me.... But I died a virgin with only losing my first kiss to God knows who!" lol
You see, this is ancient times we are speaking about. So this business of rumors, fear, singularity in thought is all caused by "ignorance" this is actually how people talk in backward/superstitious societies of my country as well. Ignorance is the root of social evils. We can use some rationality as now we have learned the importance of knowing facts rather than rumours before judging something. When I didn't read it, if I saw the portrayal of Wei Wuxian's flirtatious and Yiling Laozu's devilish sexy demeanor, I would think he fucked tons of women just like Luo BingHe in the Airplane shooting to sky's novel (not Scum Villain by MXTX). I had perfectly assumed he is not a virgin before learning from Wikia otherwise... I am sure even LWJ thought he isn't a virgin as seen from his reaction when WWX said "It's my first time".
"Losing my first kiss to God knows who!" Ahaha!! I can understand why people would assume he would be 'deflowered' as his openly flirty with the girls xD If this story wasn't told in Wei's perspective I'd have wrongly assumed he didn't have his v card too LOL! But, I wouldn't go as far to say he'd go around sleeping with a bunch of women unlike JGS bleh
I wonder though if nie huaisang had some even if minutely tendency to be like jin guang shan you know many women but I just assume this in a light way from the amount of porn he had stashed lol
Ohh mmm gg!! I never thought this...has he I wonder?? Hmm...But with the whole revenge thing, I'd assume he was sidetracked? So his stash of porn were probably in a corner piling dust lol Though I reckon Huisang wouldn't be that kind of person who likes having women/concubines. After all, he'd probably ask himself "What would brother think of me now?" Mingjue didn't like JGS either and making his big brother angry even beyond the grave is something Huisang would like not to do. Oh wait...Mingjue is trapped with JGY in that coffin box damn it
I feel it's like we like Nie huaisang enough not wanting to assume anything too bad or the absolute worst about him lol......
