Can somebody enlighten me. Sometimes I read comments on some currently ongoing translations saying that the novel is so bad, it is disappointing etc. etc.. yet the following chapter or a few tens of chapter later i would see that commenter again saying that it's bad again. So my question is if it is so bad why are they still reading it? I also notice this in 1000+ chapter CN novels despite saying its bad there are still some staying instead of dropping the novel so is the novel really 1-star worthy if you can get hooked on reading 1000+ chapters?

Ignore all comments just read the novel yourself if you like it continue reading if not then stop. Other peoples opinions are irrelevant.

Not going to justify other people's reaction, but for me myself, it's about hoping that further down the line the story will actually pick it back up again. Not having alternative novels at the time is also a hindrance to actually dropping something

Really depends on the translators. If they like it they will translate it and post it cause they can do whatever the hell they want. People will still read it mostly cause it is translated and it is something to read even though it might be "crap", using it as a stopgap while other novels they want to read are still not released yet. Sometimes, even though the story is "bad", there are some redeeming parts that are a good read and some will stick around for it(even the ones who one star it). ex. There are many 18+ novels that are rated 1 star and it is still being read, cause of the "story".

Also, don't ever tell a translator to NOT translate... Unless, they just do an utter crap job or just do something like write their own crap as a translation...

Sometimes a novel starts out as a good story and then you're too invested in it by the time it is bad. I know I only stopped reading a couple of terrible stories because the translators went on prolonged hiatus

At some point of my stay and reliance to NU, I soon find comments and ratings irrelevant when judging if the novel is good or bad.

Because most novels started out good, and gets worse.

    Examples:
    In the middle: Repetitive cliches

    In the end: Weak/rushed/disappointing endings.

The only thing u should use to judge whether a novel is good or bad is the recommendation on forum , everything else is crap and too hypocritical not worth it's weight
