What pissed me off with qidian is that whenever i use the search option to find a good originals to read, I can't sort the result by rating or number of chapters.

Some of the good completed originals will never enter the top ranking list and get burried by thousands of dropped and shitty originals because of the bad search option.

How can you so tactless to say that, while almost all the hot trends up to some point have to be paid?

hmm... Yeah I admit my writing is trash since I don't have money to hire editor! Beat me! :blobReach:

As for webnovel being like wattpad! I was here before going to webnovel, then from fellow writer (who is superior than me in webnovel) I know wattpad at september 2018!:blobokhand:

I know Royalroadl before webnovel and wattpad! So, I don't have any right to voice my agreement nor disagreement!:blobpats:

One of the big problem on qui with the content that is tagged as original is that it's mostly naruto/dbz/one piece/hxh fanfiction of abysmal quality (self inserting shit written with eyes closed and one hand (because he is wanking with the other to how awesome is OP MC is) by a toddler with ADD), and nearly all the tops and forwarding places show those trash fanfics, so real original novels have a hard time to get any kind of visibility and readers...

true, at elast at WW and GT they have proofreader, editor etc (to make the stpry really promising) the thing in qidian rn is exactly like wattpad. even some of female mc translated stories are shit, theres like only 5 or 8 translated novels (wth female mc) that has a really good story. I dont dwell on original novels, its something I cannot unsee anymore. im not trying to say that they're not good (ive read like 2 orig famous novels and they're so not good ugh cringe with the plotline) but as a reader we really cant do anything about it. they want to make more profit. I just thought qidian would only take chinese novels to translate (which I like since itll free from too much toxity of amatour/beginner authors and writers) basically all sites coming out rn are like this
before anyoneeee say anything I also wrote stories in wattpad in 2014 I guess and stop at 2015, ive had my stories one of the popular ones back then but as I read my fav genres there it becomes too typical and the writing sucks, theres no plot whatsoever, no character development so I got tired of writing. SO YEAH QIDIAN sucks but the translated stories one save me from deleting that sht app

its amazing how all the readers wn except originals to be error free and have perfect grammar.

i mean, we're not getting paid nor do we have editors unlike translators. not to mention that the free cover is only if you get contracted.
and now i heard that even if you are contracted, you dont get the cover unless you are top 10 or something....

and u only get one cover and u dont get to have any input on whats on the cover at all.

    I don't expect error-free or perfect grammar...

Having said that, I don't think it's too much to ask that some effort should be taken to at least proofread the chapters before publishing them. If a writer wants to actually grow then it's one of those necessary chores that should be performed.

Hell, at the very least install Grammarly to ensure some of the most blatant and obvious errors get caught. It works reasonably well and frequently catches many of the common mistakes.

Another point of irritation is when authors don't bother to correct blatant errors that readers have gone to the trouble of commenting on. Making grammar corrections doesn't have to be very time consuming, and in fact, it usually takes a lot longer for a person to comment on the grammar issue than it does for the author to make the correction.

Failure to make those changes simply tells me that an author isn't serious about trying to improve.

Even more important, how does an author expect to improve if they don't bother making corrections? It's by becoming aware of common mistakes and correcting them, that helps a writer grow. The more a writer fixes their mistakes the less likely they are to make those same mistakes! And when they do make those mistakes, they will start to instinctively notice the errors and automatically correct them while writing.

All I see is ignorant people grasping at straws.
The difference, well any average joe can publish content on webnovel.com and be seen.
Bashing Qidian unnecessary to look cool is just stupid
Yes, you get a lot of like but if you want to here yourself speak then talk to the wall if you
do not intend to add anything constructive.
You also forget that wattpad targets mostly romance and BL while you get cultivation and LitRPGs on webnovel
which is a breath of fresh air in my opinion
If I read another Attack on Titan fanfic by accident this year, I will raise hell
I consider that anime crap: It is just gore porn
It was bad enough with all the Naruto porn fanfics a decade ago
I want my innocence back!! :blob_coughblood:

i use Grammarly and it doesn't fix alot of things. as for errors that readers point out, alot of writers do fix them, but it is another question if they want to post the fixed/edited version for free on WN. most original authors who do not want to get contracted are going to put their work on amazon.

now if there is no difference between the amazon version and the one on WN, who is going to buy their work?

also almost everything on WN gets pirated so hard, why would a sane author want to put their edited works there?
the piracy on WN is so absurb that even uncontracted original authors suffer, yet other authors who are on say, wattpad or other sites do not suffer as much as those on WN.

even WW/GT original authors do not get pirated as much as WN since there are many sites specifically targeting WN right now

lets be clear, you are not paying anything here. even CN webnovel have tons of errors if you read the raws.

as for proofreading, have you ever read your own works? you really need another person to read it and point out the errors for you because you wont beable to stop mistakes yourself unless it is very obvious (like missing words)

at the end of the day, writers still need people to point out the mistakes and errors. i have seen many originals on WN where they just get 1 star for bad grammar and english. we had a topic about a reader who bashed an original author for having bad english a while ago on NUF so dont say that it isnt the norm, because it is the norm in WN to expect and demand edited works from original authors.

you who do not expect originals to be error free or mistake free is an exception and even then you are still saying the writer should proofread them.

the entitlement is really high here.

anyway you can continue to claim that you dont expect much from original authors but lets face it, everyone else on WN does. also original authors do not recieve much support from WN. infact, even contracted authors do not get editors or proofreaders for free and the more popular novels have volunteer editors/proofreaders to help
