I'll 2nd that BL novels really suck. The MC is 95% of the time the bottom, the top is an asshole that would've disregarded the MC if it wasn't for plot, and the story could easily be substituted for a female MC. While there are a few with good plot that I've read, Earth Online and Legendary Master's Wife, up until the bit where the ML learns all of the MC's secrets while the MC learns nothing of the ML.

However, there's just as many shit gay novels as straight ones. If I were looking for steamy scenes I'd read Japanese Bara mangas, the authors are actually gay and know how a dick works.

This is all coming from a married gay guy though so I'm not the demo for the stories.
I'm always baffled by how fragile straight men are though. I've read yuri and straight novels with no issue.

More yaoi novels for me then hehe.

From what I've seen, BL manga/anime is mostly Japanese and BL novels are mostly Chinese.

Sorry, I misinterpreted the last novel you were talking about as two. What novel is it?

    addition~
WN easy to write (yeah relative speaking if we compare it with writing book under evil called deadline from publisher)hence you have more CN WN for BL
as for book I believe Japan have highest BL book printed on the the world~ I think on LN format~
so if you wanna see more BL from LN you can start crowd founding Danmei sect~

i dont think western publishers place many deadlines on their writers. most writers do not have a deadline when writing their books.

depend on how successful the author or contract with the publisher. if successful they can set their own deadlines.

Also their financial condition is their own deadline. To illustrate this there is this manga about a mangaka where she is unmotivated to do anything then the landowner came and asked for the rent(she paid quickly) .

It's usually more on the translators' fault more than the chinese authors themselves
