hello !!1 I’m looking for a couple things which I’ll list down here: -Female protagonist -Romance (no bl/gl) preferably as a subplot but can be main plot too -No black bellied love interest and/or mc -Romance that makes sense where the characters don’t fall in love the moment they see each other -Characters with morals and common sense that don’t kill people just because they were insulted -Not too overpowered -They actually have to work hard instead of being amazingly talented and only cultivating for 5 mins to get the outcome of a year -an actual plot -not too much politics, preferably avoided altogether. not too fond of lots of scheming (ex. like what’s in Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage) -No harem -None of the cliche “Had a one night stand with a ceo” “Black Belly Wife” etc -Can be any genre (historical is a little eh) -Humor is cool -Not Japanese novel (don’t really like the writing style) Similar things I’ve read like what I’m looking for: -Whisper of the Nightingale (lovelovelove this book, it’s a lot more in depth than what you normally see in cultivation type novels and despite the character being strong, it’s not to the point she’s overpowered. you can actually get a sense that she’s working hard) -Stunning Edge (a little harem esque and cliche-y, but it’s not too bad. I really liked Feng Yixuan as the love interest, his personality was like a breath of fresh air amongst the way too black belly op “ghost demon king” clones.) -My Disciple Died Yet Again (one of my all time favorites with a sane main character) -Reign of the Hunters (another one of my all time favorites.. it’s still ongoing though) honestly don’t know if there are any more books like the ones I’m looking for... thank you if you tried though

Phoenix Destiny - should have roughly 90% of the things you’re looking for. Still ongoing but I really enjoy the fact that she doesn’t rely on the ML or anyone else for that matter and even though she has a “cheat”, this cheat can sometimes backfire and leave her helpless at times.

Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes, All Thanks to a Single Moment of Impulse This pretty much fits it, romance is so good and has a sense. No black belly, a lot of fun but sad times too. I really recommend it, one of my fav novels so far. It's concluded, so you don't even need to wait for chapters.
I actually stopped reading Whisper of the Nightingale because I felt the romance was too forced, other than that she was a great mc though
Ascendance of a Bookworm will eventually meet this, though most of the romance is in the parts not yet translated.
