    I kinda understand not linking to [redacted] or other torrent sites since its pirate pages but even mentioning is forbridden?
    Then what. Mentioning hitler, stalin or even mentioning about racism, sexism is too forbridden?
    It's one thing to write troll topics or be racist but another to censor even mentioning about things. It reeks me of china.

    I understand your frustration, but the rules are simple. Do not name or link to an aggregator on the forums. You can discuss them if you wish, but must do so in a roundabout fashion, without naming them. Requests for alternatives are not allowed. This is not a piracy forum. You can see this as respect for Google's policies because it supplies the advertisements on Novel Updates, you can see it as respect for the translators whose work is stolen by aggregators, or you can see it as a totally arbitrary rule with no basis whatsoever. Regardless, them's the brakes. No piracy on the forums.

    If you would like to appeal these rules, take it up with @Tony.

    I was refering to zamornews post who showed a screenshot and mentions it by name. This was before a mod merged that thread with this one.

    And as said, Qidian has a monthly unlimited subscription now. So as you can guess an aggregator can now easily scrap the entire site with much less effort. Hence I can see them doubling down on aggregators going forward.

    That'd be a waste of time. Taking down any random aggregator at the top of your google search results would require an investment from them. Which will just leave... the other nine results on a typical single page. The aggregator they managed to take down, too, will quickly be back up a day later when its owner realizes his AFK moneymaking machine broke again.

    That's assuming, of course, that they can manage to take one down and don't just fail. Aggregators simply don't even exist unless they're prepared to ignore silly things like DMCA's and happen to be hosted in places difficult to deal with.

    If they doubled down on anything, it'd be the little guys. Translators also working on their novels despite everyone telling them not to, for example. Subreddits like this one probably qualify, too, really, since they come off more as some kind of fan rebellion than a legitimate aggregator. Whatever the case, aggregators will continue to exist. At most, everyone else will suffer.

    I just wanted to point out it's kinda funny Qidian was banned from one subreddit because of being tagged as a pirate site, and then another subreddit appeared just to pirate things from Qidian.

    In all honesty, I'm kinda happy they're gone~

    I for 1 support what they were doing. Premium is pretty bull I think. Not to mention the subreddit is moving away from reddit, so you can find them again in a few days if you look hard enough.

    Just a thought bubble for you mods and admins but would a '*wink wink*' pseuodnym name be still considered as naming an aggregator as per the rules?

    Kind of like how some chinese online groups/communities/etc have generally recognized pseudonyms or alternate phrases to refer to things they cant say directly because of the censorship.

    It's fine, before the purge i've made a living sugesting people buried their paywalled qidian novels so that they rest underground, and never had a problem with mods, some even liked those posts
