Question Close combat mage, did it become better?

Hello. Started reading close combat mage from the time the first chapter was translated, but by the 80th chapter MC was still playing with his tinky-winky in the kindergarten with no prospect in advansing in plot, so I stoped reading it. I see it has 430 chapters translated now, so did it become better since or is it still a not worth the time?

 

For me it didn't get better, since in the latter chapters it kinda turned into a One Piece fanfic sort of

 

The only good thing I can say about CCM is that it's consistent... consistently crap, that is.

 

Turn off your brain in order to read more.

 

I enjoyed it all the way up to the point were he sets off on his journey and then he reached a desert and I didn't enjoy it as much and ended up dropping it with plans of coming back once more chapters were released but it slowed down to a crawl and so I ended up dropping it. Maybe one day I will pick it back up again.

Honestly, I hated it. I quit when he started to make money from all his water mage "friends" making women look better and spending a shit ton of money on gear that doesn't make him a better mage, just augmentation of his power. Aka I have a high ilvl...

Its been a long time since I dropped the series but I can distinctively remember him stating that items shouldnt be used to replace true strength but all he did was get stronger and stronger items
The betrayal part was just bull shit and honestly really frustrating
the whole thing started off on a shaky start in my opinion having such a young MC from the start without letting him grow to at least a reasonable age

I couldn't handle all the "Chinese novel"-ness, by which i mean the insane amounts of repeated ways of saying "unparalleled", adn also the stupid hypocricy where he keeps saying at first that those with better gear are beneath him for relying on items because of their money. Then he gets money and immediately relies on items

 

I haven't read the novel, but hell, that many is a new level of betrayal.
