Yo you guys see this trailer? Fukken looks AMAZING. Two of my favorite actors and characters of the series, together as one. I mean its basically not even a FF movie anymore with that discount terminator dude or whatever his role is but its a refreshing take and i had giggles with just the trailer alone so the other movies are shit in my mind already cuz they werent funny at all. Dunno how Shaw is alive still, i thought he was dead or something, but fuck it he's badass so who cares! I can hear the fujos typing away on their fanfictions already...
When Walker died during one of the shootings ( was it for FF 5 , 6 or 7 ?) it killed part of the series. But you can sum the movies up rather easily. The higher the number, the more action and way bigger weapons used (started out with police and handguns, within a few movies there was a tank and armed helicopters etc.)
I will quote a Youtube comment under the trailer. ‘The street always wins!’ Says Dom after beating the Xenomorph.
Don't you actually need groundcontact to drift ? And I believe that while someone who knows something about engines can modify cars to be quicker, it's a whole different story with jetplanes , and they sure as hell wouldn't get propellerplanes (which nowadays is mostly limited to cessnas and the likes or passenger / transport planes, which don't really make for good races) If they keep doing FF for... let's say 10-20 years more, we might actually have spaceships of some sort, but before that we should have way more aircraft or groundvehicles on other planets / planetbodies in space. As for mechas... possible, but keeping with the movies it ought to be more of some sort that is wheels or trackdependant, rather than bipedals or thrusterdependant.
man the last 7 movies had racing and cars tho. Now i get what you mean, good old fashioned races, but like you can only do so much with that kinda basic bitch formula. Thats why they went tanks and shit in the first place. While cool it was also an obvious desperate cry for help as they clearly ran outta ideas about what to do in a series based off of racing fast cars. They're basically just borrowing the brand at this point, which isnt really a bad thing in my opinion. These are two beloved and talented actors who are playing beloved and well known characters from a familiar and famous movieverse. Each of who are badass, who make badass movies, and have established badass characters in this specific universe...I still get hard as fuck went watching that scene with Stathem walking outta that hospital. That dude, with that music, with that background? Bruh. And its interesting to see them team up given all that. I mean really its so far from the original premise of F and F that you may as well have just made an entirely new movie with new characters played by the actors but again i get why they did it and, also again, nice to see the characters you know being comrades.
Yeah you need some sort of sliding effect. In a hovercar type of deal you couldn't drift because it'd keep you locked in place. At most you'd be able to spin the car while travelling on a straight line i would imagine? So antigravity wouldnt work i dont think, you'd need something that exerts "force" that could push you in different directions. Even if you had a hovercar that was based on something other than antigravity they'd have to be designed in a way that they exerted the pushing force from multiple sides of the car or were on moving mechanisms that could put out independant levels of force which would enable high level of maneuverability. You cant truly drift without being capable of moving in curves, eh?
Basically, you could set up a drifting course somewhere gravity doesn't naturally exist, but the effort put into it would be too much for the short pleasure of using it unless you use it for very long and then people get bored of it ?
Look how far F&F has come. That shit is crazy. When I saw the trailer I didn't expect none of this over the top shit. But I welcome it for this new branch
