Request Themes of Loneliness/Immortality

So i am looking for a book that explores the themes of Loneliness and/or Immortality.

Essentially think of a book that is more concerned with the whole journey than anyone one specific act. I wanna see how people cope with these aspects and deal with their lives throughout the journey.

When i saw Loneliness think Cast Away. Somebody all alone in Solitude with no communication. Could be a last man on earth setting or a stranded in space or elsewhere setting.
All in all this could be a literal Loneliness or Metaphorical one as long as they feel apart and deal with that.

When i say immortality think... immortality. Somebody who must deal with the ravages of time, must deal with all the things that life throws at you over and over again.

So i just Finished reading Replay by Ken Grimwood and i'm looking for something Deep with one or both of these aspects.

Ya, but it is a struggle against 1 act. Definitely more looking for just the struggle than the need to save humanity.
Still though. It is a good IP.

Doesn't quite fit. But still looks interesting, i'll give it a shot.

Not really looking for Novels like these here. The aspects are there but aren't the focus or represented and explored in the way i am looking for.

Maybe? Seems more like a comedic approach.
Is it deep, or more comedic?

I think Renegade Immortal might fit at the latter stage of the story. WL occasionally lamented with how lonely and pitiful a cultivator is.

How about classic Zelazny books: 'Isle of the Dead' or 'Keys to December'.

 

Everyone Else is a Returnee explores a little this aspect in the fisrt few chapters, but I think its too unrealistic the way mc deals with it... I think the story turn from bad to worse after the lonesome aspect. But it may be interesting for you, and its only a few chapters where he is alone.

not a novel, but you should check "Highlander: The Series", the first and second season are ok... as every good tv serie they mess up after one or two temporades, so dont keep you hope high.

 

For a Prosperous World
This is one of the most interesting takes on immortality I have ever come across. The title itself is about a promise that the protagonist makes, one that would take multiple lifetimes to fulfill. It also comes with some very evocative imagery: of returning home everyday to an empty household because everyone else had passed away a decade ago, or the protagonist of hearing herself being spoken of as a legend for things that she did centuries earlier. And of course, there's the added burden of never being able to tell anyone about her secret, and never being able to make any permanent connections to the people around her.

The only problem is that the early part of the story takes place before the protagonist realizes that she's immortal, and the later portions of the novel haven't been translated yet.

 

Ya, but does it become the focus of the story or is it just a remark, a short interlude before the story continues.

Haven't heard of them. But i will be sure to check them out. First recommendations from outside the community, high hopes.

Ya, i really loved the initial setting. The Prologue to say.
He definitely reacted... unexpectedly but the premise was so good i pretty much gave everything else a pass.
Though i have stalled out on the novel since, bit too messy.
