I see it mentioned again and again in AGM but can't seem to find much about a description. One chapter mentioned it howling but I don't know how accurate the translation is.
the heck is AGM? maybe, just maybe, you can, you know, ask in the chapter, in coments... or in the last chapter discursion thread.
The first character means "real" or "genuine." The second character is Hou meaning this mythical creature - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denglong
googling Zhenkong all points me to one of the four fiends: hundun If it's 'howling' then the mentioned may be a beast and thus could be the hundun. It would fit a cultivation novel like AGM Apart from that, everything draws a blank.
I'm unsure, honestly. I don't read the novel, it's just this thread made me curious. Of course, one can try asking the translator about it by commenting, but from my experience in QI long ago, the replying function there left much to be desired.
*shrugs* then it's beyond my ken. If it is really different, then i dont know why google kept tossing up chinese mythological beasts when i googled Zhenkong. I even googled the characters you gave earlier in the thread with the same results >.>
What @nonononononono said above has a good point actually. It could just be a mistaken character? 犼 = hǒu 孔 = kǒng So....maybe that's how Zhenkong came to be?
Now that i think about it, the first result when i searched the character pair was this which seems to be the simplified chinese language wiki page for the Denglong (putting aside the vagaries of MTL). Given all of this, it quite possibly may be a mistaken reading which lead to a word that seemingly doesnt actually exist or mean anything.
