I've been reading a lof of xianxia novels lately. But then I realized I've never enjoyed the fight scenes.

I tends to skip the fight scenes because its basically some random moves with bombastic name that makes no sense.

So I wonder if there is any xianxia or wuxia that have a fight scene which are easy to understand and get immersed into?

I'd love to read a cultivation novel where fight scenes don't consist of just exaggerated fist bumps.

Monarch of Evernight was pretty enjoyable for me cuz its set in a world where guns and melee weapons are used in tandem, the fight scenes are usually tactical and the author does not enjoy making wierd sound effects either.

Xianxia tends to have some cool moves and epic moments, but the actual fights themselves aren't really anything outstanding.

That said though, I can't really recall ever thinking a fight scene in any novel was particularly noteworthy...

Like in basically every novel the combat is pretty much turn based...

Xianxia fight scenes are only good at the early parts where they really incorporate martial arts instead of just shouting the name of a move then do their handseals and whatnot. Try reading a wuxia novel

Amber Sword has some of the best fight scenes though it's not xianxia.

I remember ATG having a really good fight scene during his dragon trial with yuechan. I think he ended up dieing two or three times - something like that.

I'm just gonna go wild here and say Counterfeit Hero, even though it's nowhere near what you wanted (it's got martial artists, but no actual cultivation other than improving their skills, moves and hand speed).

    Why?
Because in one fight the MC has divided his forces into 4 lettered fronts and 3 lettered subfronts, spelling out :
    F U C K
    Y O U

That even goes through MTL. I challenge anyone to find something similar.

I would say Reverend Insanity fight scene is pretty good.

I'm actually enjoying the fight scene and due to how cultivation works in this novel, a scenario where someone of a lower cultivation state winning againts those of higher cultivation state actually do make sense.

To this day, I still think the best fight scene in any light novel ever, was the duel between the Dragon God, Orsted, vs Rudeus in Mushoku Tensei

If you're looking for good fight scenes, you're way better off reading wuxia. While it's thought of a bit differently today, that genre was revived primarily because of kickass fights. And of the different wuxia writers, the one who put the most into his fights was Jin Yong. He manages to make them interesting even when it's a couple of minor characters fighting or if one of the sides is overwhelmingly superior.

The best place to start would probably be The Legend of the Condor Heroes. It's one of the foundational works of modern wuxia, and you'll be able to see its influence in all sorts of xianxia and xuanhuan titles (and beyond!) Just don't be put off by the fact that it's only 40 chapters; these are super large chapters and the book is still around 1 million words.
