Discussion United Nations banning anything H or likely E too?

I was going to sleep, since I feel like fainting a little from the immense sleep deprivation, but this recently happened when I was scrolling a sub Reddit on manga (reading reactions about latest Twin Stars chapter update).

Basically the UN is proposing a draft to ban child pornography, but the problem lies is that it includes fictional characters as well. This movement from the UN made an explosion of arguments on what's legal or proper in both subs Reddit on manga and anime. Including citing old articles about how the East, or Japan in particular views this subject and the controversy of a sub Reddit user, formerly banned for posting a non-sexual swimsuit picture of K from Love is War anime.

My main concern is what some users argued that anything H is very likely to be banned and should the draft be implemented through court, then indeed, consumers of said genre or tag will very likely to be subjected to crime, though the crime itself is "crime without physical evidence". The problem is what about E? What's to say the UN will ban E content, therefore blocking any novel, anime, manga, visual novel that has E if not H. Said argument stated that this draft is a very gray zone plus the bias and agenda the government has against anime in the West.

I don't live in the States, so I need some people to clarify if this will affect the whole community in the long-run? Regardless of what factions there are, the casuals or degenerates. Will this proposal will affect other countries or servers other than where the UN overseers?

How do you reach the conclusion everything E and H will disappear from this? If it goes through the only thing that'll go is loli/shota stuff and works that specify ages below 18 as far as I understand it. What possible grounds are there to ban hentai rofl

 

Simple people will just use proxies and the creators inside the eu will bd fucked. Are you talking about the European union or the United nations btw since the united nations have absolutely no power to even pass something like this. If they cant stop what is happening in yemen what makes you believe that they have any power over the internet. Btw the only reason why a lot of websites accepted the eu security rise is because it was not that much rise in cost of operating to warrant cutting out the eu.

 

Relax mate, I can't think of a single Un proposition that is even has influence let alone has been enforced on a wide scale (dont quote me on it). And there is definitely enough degenerates in Japan that this won't go overwell, they are already a defeated people in general what with the whole death work culture. You wont be able to take away their imagination as its their last place of escape. The otakus will not let it happen.

I don't know the regulations regarding the UN, but I do know H content will be banned, but my main concern is E content. Like there are brand manga or anime I like to read and watch that have E content, but are not mainly used for pornography at all. Said liked manga or anime might become unavailable to me if the draft becomes a law. The problem is the whole fiasco is groundless from the very start, and what's worse is who gets to choose which is considered legal or not?

 

Even though the UN is physically in the United States, it isn't governed by the US.

 

And this is exactly why people only see UN as a joke. They talk about child pornography when people are still dying due to war, hunger and poverty.

Instead of focusing fixing starvation and wars .. they are all heroes trying to bann some manga .. a few people in the world enjoy? .. im not much of a hentai person .. but ecchi is fine in anime imo like i watch some Isekai anime or read manga.

If they wanted to bann this they should have done this years ago and not waited until it was even more popular because of the internet these days.

If this passes it will be the same as article 13. So they will censor content in the EU so you will need to use a vpn to read it. This probably won't effect the US at all.

UN proposed something similar with the whole " Hentai degrades women's worth and should therefore be banned ". Which made the Feminist representatives in Japan shake their head.
