The UN is afraid of the Venezuela Crisis that's threatening to evolve into a full scale nuclear war. If people know about this, there will be a lot of unrest especially in NATO countries. The power that be in the UN wants to distract the people from talking about Venezuela. So they invented a new issue so that everyone would forget about Venezuela.

We should support World War 3 to put the fear of the gods back into those assholes at the UN.

Even if they did ban ''underage'' hentai like shota/loli, it would have very little effect tbh. Like, that's the reason why it hasnt been banned yet. If the artist says ''this child like looking character is actually 18+'', who can say that's wrong? Hell, loads of artists already does that. You'd have to draft entirely new laws to deal with that, and UN (or EU, for that matter) doesnt really have that much power.

Like, it's the same as when patreon banned incest, and then games and stuff that had incest themes just retconned it to either be step siblings or not siblings at all.

Edit: and even if it was gonna do anything, how they gonna enforce it? Bestiality is banned in a lot of places, still gets produced, still gets watched. The only reason they can enforce and punish stuff like child porn is cuz it is a pretty small (idk what to call it, calling it a community feels wrong, but ya know what i mean) and they go directly to the source to find the people. What would they do to people who watch/read loli/shota tho? Like that's a preeetty big community. What they gonna do, jail thousands of people?

It's the standard of politics these days. Be seen doing something without actually doing anything.

The eu actually has control over europe and are able to pass laws effectively turning them into a psuedo government. The un has absolutely no power over many of its nations bared the few that take in heavy humanitarian aid. So unless you are browsing loli content in front of police who actually know about this ban in the congo you have nothing to worry about

I actually knew a comic artist on a site who ran into that problem. She was a young creator at the time and didn't think anything of writing a BL comic with sixteen year olds. After she was warned that comics depicting underage sex wasn't allowed, she changed it by saying they were in college instead of school...
But her comic still got kicked.

Laws are different to a website, I'd hope, but this method isn't fullproof even online.

You know what? Because of this very link. I sent a message to the Justitiedepartamentet. Where I questioned their Intelligence while also painting Game Of thrones as a TV series that is breaking Laws because it depicts Incest, Rape and other things in a Graphic Fictional setting plus it depicts Men buying Sex. Sweden has the funny law that says Buying Sex is illegal, not selling. Which means, this is a TV series is deemed Illegal according this Manga case.

So, I called to question the validity of the whole Case and demanded change to the existing Law structure.

aye well that's obviously because the site owners knows what she did. They knew that the characters were underage before, and they knew she just lazily changed it. Someone enforcing a law wouldnt really be able to have the same contextual knowledge of the situation, and therefore wouldnt really be able to say anything other than ''but well, it looks like a child'' to prove the characters age, and, well, that's obviously pretty silly, since, it's a drawing after all. It doesnt have an age.

Artists would have to explicitly state age everywhere, then; I think it's possible to be charged (at least here) if the age of the actors involved in porn are at all questionable.

there was one I saw not too long ago about a man who was taken to court with child porn charges because he looked up twink porn on a hotel's internet, and another person thought it was CP. He won his case, but it took a long time.
Having trouble locating the article, but I'll try again later. Need to head off to do a thing.

Real world porn (and even some regular shows) already does that usually with notice of meeting whatever legal requirements is required, especially stuff that's marketed as being on or just above the legal side of the age borderline. It wouldnt be much of a change to have something giving the arse-covering spiel with manga and anime.

I thought there's already something like that? I've seen some H having some sort of 'public warning' (in Japanese tho) prior to the actual episode.

It depends on your source. A lot of videos on PornHub are just uploaded by users, and if it's not the user themselves creating the porn, checking the age of the uploader does nothing.

I unfortunately can't find the original case I was looking for, but I came across this, which is kind of the same thing:

Dude, just ignore UN. Their "relief" army in africa are basically fence-sitters. Holed up in their base ignoring the killings and what not

That would cut down novels a lot.

And we are watching Slime Tensei here at home (plus I'm watching Tate no Yuusha too) so NO.
