It's not like I don't like Yi Yun more than LM. It's just feels like YY character growth is like 0. As we know LM has setbacks like one with Sheng mei and buffer time like with XMX in Asura universe. By this time in MW LM has 2-3 children and YY remains same Young Master despite his cultivation like forever where LM got HUMAN EMPEROR title. I understand the part he is still 700 odd years old still it feels like YY will not have any major setbacks.

Martial World is a novel that happens in a history that can be identified as "before" True Martial World, is that right?

There's one thing I'm not sure, why the reincarnation trope in the starting of the novel? There's little influence, except that Yi Yun is somewhat more mature "for his age", and can cook (only once), but other than that, apparently there's no use for his experience on Earth.

Did the author wrote that just to get a "reincarnation" tag?

 

I think YY should rip Luo King's Fey Core out and feed it to the Silkworm so it can evolve, just like Poison Demon. If the guy is dead or left a cripple doesn't really matter to me.

 

From the English translation, Ruins Emperor thinks YY is stronger than him and already capable of treating the Patriarchs as equals.

I think it was a simple bait and switch while also trying to make the MC different than the MC from MW. We still don't know how the PCC ended up on Earth to be found by YY, or how it pulled him into another universe, even though we know it has the ability to travel the void.

Just found another reason that shows YY completely wastes having the PCC.

 

Many can be inferred from MC that came from earth

Such as PoV, Moral standpoint and motivation to cultivate.He didn't need to follow that world custom and the habit. Aside from protecting himself and loved one beside him, he treat cultivation as a research. Although it isn't described clearly, we know from his action that YY is laid-back and have Earth residence self-nature.

It formed a core of his personality. YY's a huge troll. It doesn't need to have some huge impact in the story other than that. It's a background. If a character is black then that doesn't need to have a huge effect on the story.

 

You shouldn’t hold out much hope this novel has a romantic subplot tag meaning any time with Xintong is a miracle already

 

Looks like YY did absorb the ghost doctor’s shattered soul after all, huh. I had thought the soul fragments got absorbed into the corpse of the ghost doctor instead. Oh well, more soul stuff for YY to use.

 

Why I actually still don't believe that Ancestor God will become the final boss?

Although it is a similar story with MW (Abyssal Demon got heavy injured by ARM and Sheng Mei parents while in YY case it is LM who heavily injured AG)

It seems that AG is not qualified to be the final boss at all.

 

I also have some doubts. I mean, from the looks of it, YY only needs to become GM to contend with him. I wonder if the Ancestor God King will be revived. We do know his seals are weakening, to the point where the Eye of Destruction had enough liberty to build a faction and even a injured DL could undo the seal.

 

You are right speaking generally, but certain backgrounds are there for the author to actually do certain things with their characters. Like character progression and whatnot.
In TMW, it's mostly to make real-world comparisons and analogies to make things easier to understand for a reader (and make the work easier for the author by that, obviously).
Some backgrounds are HUGE. A big chunk of human population is of black people. While YY is pretty much the only Earth-reincarnator(?) in existance in his multiverse. If it doesn't matter, then what background actually matters?
