I love writing, I have tons of ideas, but at the same time I have a really have a hard time writing them out or elaborating on them, in my mind I can do it just fine but I can't seem to manage to do that on paper, it's a bit easier for me to type with a computer, but mine isn't portable, so I end up losing a lot of ideas because I couldn't write them out in detail because I'd keep losing the motivation

but I really want to write.

So how do I stay focused and find the energy to write?

I just bought a really cheap laptop so I could just type on it when I'm on the go. I've written like 4 short stories, but haven't put any of them on SH since they're all garbage...

So that worked for me I guess.

    1) Whatever prompt you get, immediately type and store it in your phone. You can expand it later.
    2) Get some buddies who appreciate your efforts, even if they hate what you write. They can be online buds.

People used to carry microcassette recorders to dictate to. You could try verbally recording your thoughts on your phone.

Edit: well, if you don't have a phone, ask around if anyone has an old phone they don't want. I think the phone should still function except for making calls.

Write the keywords of your ideas on paper and then write it on your computer at home.

Always keep a memo/notepad in your pocket to jot down ideas. Sticky notes also work, or you can fold some paper in your pocket. I've written stuff on napkins as well when I had nothing else available. You can transfer them to a computer later.

I have the exact same problem.
except I don't have the nescessary perseverance and story grammar to write a story.

Coffee and a bit of an energy drink at the moment when you start writing should do the trick......

This but for the first point it doesn't have to be a phone it can be a little memo pad, napkins what ever you can get your hands on. Then try to keep a time say after dinner to sort or transfer your ideas to you computer. After that it depends on how you like to write but I recommend just writing some of it and not worrying about anything technical. Grammar, structure, wording, spelling all of these can be left for later when and if you want to share them. So just write them and learn from the mistakes; there will always be mistakes speaking from experience.

as for motivation..... for me it works only if the story idea is either unique or has at least a difference from other similar stories.
Best would be also to summaries a short version of whats gonna happen in the whole volume plot. Make a draft with every steps thats gonna happen in each chapter.

If u get easily distracted...., either cut off the inet and close urself in ur room and focus on typing or the last option would be u need someone to nag on u

Here's one thing I struggle with while writing.

NEVER TRY TO EDIT WHILE WRITING
    and
    DON'T SECOND GUESS YOURSELF

Those two things will bog you down so much while writing. You can always go back through, editing and changing things after you finish writing the chapter. It's the difference between writing 1000 words in 5 hours or writing 1000 words in half an hour.

Also, try to learn grammar and punctuation. If you know how to do it right from the get-go, it means less editing later. For example, in your post I see a huge run on sentence that abuses commas.

If you can separate the text on either side of the sentence and both sides can function as their own sentence, replace the comma with a period.

Commas are meant for listing things and for connecting two parts where either one part isn't a sentence without the other or both are sentence fragments that only make a sentence when put together.

Always remember that you don't have to be perfect; you just need to be good enough that anyone reading your story misses your mistakes.
