Heres a random post just for myself really, join if you want it's general chat so I can see how people take to the idea, the goal is to write daily for 80 days and see if you can improve your penmanship or in anyway. I choose to post it up just so I can motivate myself, and maybe see if the community wanted to join it out and try i mean its worth a shot and might be fun? Anyways thats all for this Due to how annoying it is to post a picture on nu heres a google doc where the picture of writing will go too hard to get a picture small enough to be posted here. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UHFB2hOAdabtL7f70k07S96R3861QnUd
I'm not going to agree to it since some studies find that telling someone your goals can give you most of the feeling you get from accomplishing them, therefore decreasing your motivation to do them. However if you've found such a declaration has worked for you in the past then you may be a different type of person than me.
Oh, you mean penmanship. When I read your post I thought it was a story writing challenge. XD Good on you for wanting to have good penmanship, I got my first job way back in the day because i got good penmanship.
Nothing to do with literature i just find my writing abhoring to look at want to write better so this was a spur of the moment idea XD Cool! What type of work was it if you don;t mind me asking.
I was an assistant to the council secretary of my hometown. I had to write up ordinances and resolutions that were passed in chambers into the official ledgers (which are tomes with numbered and lined pages). That was so long ago, but those books will always have the stuff I've written in them. XD Now that I'm older, I get a kick out of that, back then it was just a job.
Your writing is noticeably worse with your left hand. Two things. The first is that telling other people your goals applies pressure to you. This is a different kind of motivation. The second is that motivation is completely unreliable and untrustworthy. Discipline is way more important.
Reminds me of my boss's writing (a pharmacist) I suppose... Now if only there was some way to motivate myself to increase my self discipline...
Ya it is, not ambidextrous, but felt like it would be fun to try learning how to write with my left hand
looking at the paint dry won't change its color is the fallacy i go with in order to argue against the statement above desu
Your left hand needs more practice... try molding some figurines with clay or something to improve dexterity... or tie your right hand up and do everything with your left hand for an hour a day or whatever
my penmanship is a culmination of 4 years of typography where i had to practice every style under the sun, and create my own
Loool, that second part. Tbh, I feel like I write enough in school, so no point in doing it at home too
Probably? At least that’s what I was taught in childhood... and most artists have nice handwriting... (not sure what comes first though, practice or being born artistic)
