Ryul comments, "It is a good thing that you did happen to miss the incident at the festival. There were a good many people that have lost their lives or were seriously injured because of it."

He internally debates for a while on whether he should mention this next part or not and ends up making a decision.

"Arawn," the half-elf meets his eyes, "I am not sure what I would've done if I had heard you were hurt or...if something worse had occurred. Please, always remember to try to stay safe."

Ryul feels his mouth is a bit dry as he awaits Arawn's response.

 

Arawn smiles at his friend's concern.

"Of course! There's no need to worry about me," he says. "I'll be just fine. Thank you for worrying, though."

 

*keeps mumbling to herself* Sometimes Ignorance is a bliss I suppose... Poor guy, he is putting his bets in a horse that has no future...

 

"No need for thanks, Arawn, you are my good friend."

Ryul smiles bittersweetly as he pats his friend's back, emotionally distancing himself or at least trying to. He's perceptive enough to know Arawn will never think of him in the same way.

He shakes his head, breaking his thoughts. "Arawn, please let me ask once more. Are you sure there isn't anything I can do for you? I still owe you a favor since you got me these extra books."

 

"Hmm... well, there is a book I'd like you to take a look at," Arawn says. "It's written in some language I don't know, but maybe you might know it?"

 

"Hmm...? Oh...Nice to meet you..."

She stares blankly for a while, before slowly holding out a hand.

"Elaine."

 

Ryul feels intrigued, "Very interesting. I might possibly. I'll have to see it myself to be sure though."

The scholar asks, "You don't happen to have said book on your person currently, do you?"

 

Arawn shakes his head. "I'm afraid not. I left it in my room. I can have it delivered to you later, though. May I ask where you are staying?"

" No, Big Bois only... " - Bill
* Shocked Kyle *

 

Ryul shakes her outstretched hand.

"It's nice to meet you too, Miss Elaine."

"A pity then," he expresses with regret at Arawn's first statement.

Ryul answers, "Oh, it's an inn down the street called 'The Broken Sword.' You just have to mention my name to the owner, and he'll take care of everything."

 

"I'll have it sent down by morning," Arawn says.

 

"Mushroom soup anyone?" A gourd walked in from the kitchen with a large pot of steaming stew. "Got pumpkin, potato, and carrot too."

 

" Me? Me! "

 

Elaine absentmindedly shook the hand, but said nothing much beyond that.

*Raises a hand listlessly*

 

I'm always up for free, tasty and non-poisonous food~

 

"Good. I will look forward to it then."

Ryul smiles genuinely at the opportunity given to him to help out his friend.

"I wouldn't mind a serving, please." Ryul tells the gourd.

 

"Here you go." A bowl of steaming, thick soup was delivered.

A gourd passed a bowl of soup to her.

"You okay there? Homesick?"

"It's deathcap-free! Well, I'm pretty sure it is." A bowl was passed.

"One for you!" Another bowl out.

 

" Cooking Hero hehehe~ "
*Drinks soup*

 

Ryul assumed she was in a bad mood and tactfully withdrew.

"Ah, why thank you, good sir!" Ryul proceeded to enjoy the steaming soup.
