Actually, yes! Van can function as just a soul, with certain limitations that come with being both mortal and alive. He doesn't need his brain to think, but he still needs the brain to control his nervous system just to keep him alive.

IIRC, he can use magic more efficiently. And he looks like an evil god, if that can be considered a benefit.

Really small parts. It didn't really make a difference in the end, but it was enough for Rodcorte to notice.

Alda's harmony faction is taking care of her while Heinz is busy not being a parent.

    1) Not that I remember aside of finally consolidating his soul.
    2) He just said he "made it weaker" and it didn't change in any practical way. Well, except that even weirder jobs started to appear, but that have to do more with Origin and Earth Gods blessings.
    3) They freaked the hell out! Not only did Alda losed his oldest spirit familiar turned god, who also was the quick search bar for his archives, but his hero was utterly demolish. He decides that is time to mass produce heroes with the support of the other gods (some of whom backfired and ended up in Van's camp).
    4) After Van becomes famous (long story) she wished to be pen pal of the only other dhampir out there (Van discover more), but Van rejects her under the pretence of "I am busy and don't want to involve myself with your church".

No. It just means he can get more magic from the same amount of mana. It's just a more practical soul anatomy.

from what I understood Bellwood chose not to interfere with the world because Bell realized his chronic incapacity for self-evaluation and that he needed an evil god of revenge for him to realize the mistakes he made foolishly for 50,000 years, obviously that would be extremely traumatic for someone as simple and straightforward as Bellwood ... and even if he tried to make things right, how would he know he's not making a bunch of absurd mistakes and leaving everything worse than he already is ?! At least for me to give up completely taking decisions for 50,000 years is the best he could do and also to show that he really understood all the evil he caused ...
As long as Bell gives power to Heinz, I believe that he is seeking a conclusion. No matter what this conclusion is! Heinz can reach his goal ?! Van kills Heinz and Bell together ?! Bell seems to accept any conclusion that this dispute had without saying a word of opposition

my view of Bellwood since the beginning of the story, has always been that he is equal to a protagonist of Shonen cliche Good, determined, hardheaded, friend and stupid ... Bellwood is a bit like the Black Clover Asta just fine less noisy ...

After Vandalieu rebuilds his soul, the gods of the faction of Vida talk about the "new" soul of Vandalieu.
First, the attribute of death is now deeper in your soul, running in your soul like blood, and that it is impossible to erase the attribute of death now.
Second, after rebuilding his soul there are fragments that Vandalieu used to create mini-clones, which according to the gods have a role similar to angels, which are later used to descend, in a version of the Vandalieu of the skill [descent of angel] that the followers of the Vandalieu gain.

    Super short summary:
Kanako's group have been creating Gunpowder.
Darcia revives as a Chaos Elf Source, turns both Kanako and Melissa into Chaos Elf.
They shoot fireworks, Alda saw the firewoks in the skies of Talosheim, he is sure that Van is a person from another world, and calls Rodcorte, who spill the beans and says he will cooperate with Alda.
Van notices Heinz party defeating a version of him through abyss. On the second time battle, he possesses "copy Van", gives them a lecture, and fights against them in a draw, destroying most of the dungeon, eating Curatos, and leaving Heinz's trio are in terrible shape. Gufa and Darcia arrives in front of Heinz, and she tells him she won't forgive him for what he did to her son, and annihilates him, thus returning him to "Town".
Alda asks Rod to fix Edgar, who is in an almost dead situation, Mill is responsible for Heinz. Delizah is resting in the God area to recover, but she is not as bad as the other 2.
Van decides to visit the Alcrem dukedom after the failures of Hartner and Sauron. He arrives in the town of Moksi alone, to enter the commercial Guild and eventually join the Adventurer's Guild.

Darcia arrives in Moksi, and join Van in selling skewers.
Van is bullied by sub guildmaster of commercial guild, but Van doesn't mind and does what is told, to absolute success.
3 new characters appear: Simon, a retired adventurer who lost an arm, Natania, an adventurer who was betrayed by her comrades and had all her limbs cut by minotaurs but was saved by Randolph in disguise, she also asked him to save another person, the third character, Juliana, the little sister of Duke Alcrem, she lost her limbs plus extras and was raped by the minotaurs and is holding Eggs inside herself, Van decides to make a pseudo-reincarnation similar to Pauvina on her and her squad. He also helps the other 2 by getting them Spirit Form through Guidance and prosthesis.
Birkyne arrives in Moksi to get Van, Van eats him and Hihiryushikaka.
Hajime Fitun attacks Moksi to get Van, Van's allies protect the town and fight Hajime Fitun. Murakami appears in the middle of the fight to help Fitun, but is betrayed and everyone is eaten. Van inherits their abilities + Deathscythe and Gungnir, who Rod gave to Murakami.
Van and Darcia are told to visit the capital of Alcrem.

Van and Darcia arrive in Alcrem, sell some skewers, introduce Vida races like Ghouls who he already did in Moksi, plus Arachne, Empusa and Scylla with his waifus. They meet with the Duke.
One of the 5 knights of the Duke is actually a monster mimic of an Evil God, Van defeats him after making a huge golem to show the people as if the Knights defeated the evil god. Duke Alcrem learns about Talosheim and turns into an ally, also changing the religion to Vida Fundamentalism, and yeah, he is also afraid of making enemy of a super power.

Darcia gets a Noble Title in Alcrem. Juliana gets a divine message from Peria with Botin's location, and they go to the Demon King Continent.
On the way, they meet Botin Defense Force, a huge group of Demi Gods from Alda's faction that think Van is going to eat Botin to get stronger. Van is called by a mermaid and finds the "submarine" territory of Gartland, which is reigned by some gods and evil gods who couldn't meet with Zakkart, or fused and would be refused/killed by Alda. There are a number of new races there, and now they are part of the Vidal Empire.
Van defeats and eats many of Demi Gods eventually unsealing Botin. Peria Defense Force, a similar group of Alda faction gods who were protecting Peria's place are dismissed by Peria's subordinate gods guarding her and awakens, as she was faking sleep all this time. And both join Vida.
Kanako turns into a Guider and is helping converting people like crazy.
Heinz is back, Edgar thinks he is Guduranis, they continued the dungeon starting from the point where it wasn't destroyed yet, and fought Dark Souls like Guduranis, eventually defeating him. They meet Bellwood who is hiding under a rock thanks to hero Jyuradeeps, and he accepts giving Heinz his help, but Heinz gets busted by getting a god inside of him and can't move.

Van is training to fight against Heinz/Bellwood (Vida found out thanks to Vida believers waiting for Heinz).
    Zadiris got Princess Guider.

    Skipping lots of stuff.

Meawhile in Origin, Banda is called by Zuruwarn to meet Gods of Earth and Origin to receive their blessings, in Origin, a part of his soul stays and meets Metamorph and then Mei, and is tied to her. Mei loves Banda (Vandalieu in baby voice was Banda).
Mei and Hiroshi are kidnapped, Banda saves them.
Hiroshi meets Banda, gets part of Murakami cheat (Super MP Recovery), and Banda starts teaching him No-Attribute Magic. Van also meets Druid, a braver who seems understanding and helps against Avalon.
Mei is 3yo and Banda makes her test get Light Attribute, but Avalon deduces and is aware she probably got something around her (who saved from the Kidnapping), and must have Death Attribute, Van also "short circuits" Metamorph, who can't be used by Avalon, so he decides to experiment Death Magic on her, and could destroy the world.
Rod found about Banda by checking the bravers memories, and thinks Banda wants to make origin into Undead to give power to him and Vida, he tries to send a divine message to Avalon not to mess with Mei and have his soul destroyed, by Avalon doesn't get it. Now he tried to send to Hiroto to kill Avalon, but we still didn't get the results from that. Rod wants Avalon to die fast to go to Lambda.

Also, because Kanako was able to move to Van's place, Rod and Alda will offer to the following reincarnators: Kill Van or be brainwashed.

I always forget how long the story actually is until someone decides to post a summary. :blobrofl:

Considering the sheer size of this summary, I don't blame you. Luckily, I've got most of the finer points handled for you!
Chaos Elf Sauce, if MTL is to be believed... :blobunsure:

Also, Alda is furious at Rodcorte for, you know, dropping a hypercompetent Demon King on Lambda.

Van also gets the Demon King's shadow from the battle, which is apparently a particularly important fragment.

At this point, Alda and Nineroad start panicking because one of their own endangered a city to attack Van just because he was looking for a good fight. Ergo, he blatantly and unironically decided he wasn't on the side of justice.

The cheats were integrated with existing skills. So Van already had all of their powers, basically.

The evil god was actually rather clever. He died because he had no way of knowing that Van could still easily kill him while missing his most useful powers.

There is also V-Cream. Lots and lots of V-Cream. I'm not even going to explain this one.

Why the quotation marks? It's underwater, so it's submarine.

Kanako is effective because idols are popular in a way that the promise of luxuries can't match. Naturally, Rodcorte started panicking at this point, and hasn't stopped since. :blobxd:

Rodcorte put a Demon King fragment in Edgar to compensate for critical soul damage. This was Rodcorte's biggest fuckup thus far.

The dungeon was actually more difficult with Curatos managing it. They only managed to defeat a crude bot with the simulated powers of Guduranis.

Bellwood is reformed, more or less. Sadly, because the world is better off without him, he really doesn't want to influence anybody. So he lent Heinz his immense power, but refused to do much else.

This is actually very funny, in case you haven't noticed. Heinz put in so much effort to get this far, only to break his own body with the divine assistance he needs.

As part of this training, Van took four high-end jobs in a row. We timeskipped all that.

    And the fandom rejoiced! :blobparty:

Seriously, we've been awaiting this job for a while now.

IIRC, Murakami's cheat lets him slow or stop time. Banda only gifted Hiroshi with the parts left over after he ate the cheats.

This Super MP Recovery would be pointless for Van. However, it perfectly suits Hiroshi, who is just a child who wants to have special powers like his parents.

Using magic without invoking an attribute generally takes more effort, so this works very well with Super MP Recovery. Plus, this makes Hiroshi Origin's first No-Attribute Magic practitioner!

Van guided Metamorph. He has this weird pseudo-enlightening effect on souls he guides, which has been implied but not stated outright. For example, the ghouls and amputees he guided gained the ability to move their spirit forms freely.

Rodcorte is not used to having worshippers. He can't send clear divine messages.

From what I caught, it's actually more underground.
My imagination says it's like this: You go underwater to the bottom, then you enter a cavern, follow the path until you can "surface" again. This surface is a huge cavern (underground) which the gods are maintaining for the sake of the population. So the alps-like mountains where the Yeti are would be technically below the sea surface, which is strange, but if they were to be above water, they could be found and targeted by Alda.

An Underwater city usually gives the impression of a giant transparent air bubble and everyone is inside and stuff.

    Hence why I quoted.

And I skipped important characters the Heart Warriors, Bacias, and the people from Moksi like the Orphanage, the Guild Masters from the Tamer and Adventurer's guilds, the other 4 Knights of Alcrem and so on, and Van preparing to go to school

Quite frankly, the other guys having done nothing wrong hasn't stopped Van yet in terms of invaders into his territory. His track record so far is 99.999% of all intruders are killed and then either resurrected as undead or soul-broken if he decides he doesn't like them, the one and only exception EVER being Elenora.

That said, beings some of the people sent in this time are knights from Alcheim for the sake of public appearances he can't get out of, we may very well be about to see our second case of an exception.

Well, actually, I'm afraid @Mesaphrom has steered you wrong on this one. Van never fired his void cannon at himself during the fight, and it was not the void cannon he was using when the god of reccords used a fake Darcia to block him. (I doubt he would have been capable of pulling back the void cannon anyway.)

Anyway, the attack he was using was a new invention unveiled and making its debute that fight, and it is quite the frightening attack actually. He calls it "hemophilia," and its effects are that he turns his own blood into soul-devouring airborne microorganism. So, in other words, trebeculosis that divours your soul instead of your lungs. As soon as the two new additions to Heinz's party are kicked out, Van releases this pathogen into the air, and then starts actually adding even more from the DK blood in order to speed up the process. The attack that Van pulled back when the fake Darcia was thrown in was the wall of blood of his "hemophilia" attack.

As for the damage to Van's soul, that damage was caused simply due to the fact that he was fighting a battle to the point of loosing consciousness while in naked soul form. He was never hit by his own soul breaking attacks at any point. The problem was that as a naked soul, any normal attack became a soul-breaking attack even if the person attacking him didn't have soul-breaker abilities.

No, actually, the chapter where Bellwood is released makes it quite explicit why it is that Bellwood wants to remain silent, and it has absolutely nothing to do with a loss of confidence. It's not because Bellwood doesn't trust himself to have a good opinion to share, it's because Bellwood has recognized that his guidance ability very well might be the single most dangerous guidance in the world.

Bellwood's guidance is just called "guidance." No actual direction to it. It explains how, at first, when Bellwood got this ability, he thought it meant he had the purest form of guidance and that made him somehow superior. After a while in his time of self-refllection under the influence of sinful chains though, he realized that the reality of his guidance was that it was an "aimless guidance." But, actually, it's even more dangerous than just being aimless. More to the point, the effects of Bellwood's guidance are that it's an "extremist guidance."

In short, the effects of Bellwood's guidance are to take whatever a person's strongest beliefs are and then amplify them, causing extreme people to become even more extremist and fanatical. In other words, make them act like Alda and the gods who follow him. It's true, all of Alda's views and opinions are views and opinions he held even before Bellwood showed up. However, Bellwood recognized that it was actually because of his guidance that Alda pushed his boarish opinions to the point where he stopped listening to anybody, started using violence against anyone who disagreed with him, and started leading the world to ruin. Bellwood essentially views Alda himself as his biggest sin.

That's the reason Bellwood refuses to even talk to Heinz. Bellwood is afraid that if he gives even a single piece of advice to Heinz, advising him could be considered guidance, and he absolutely DOES NOT want to guide Heinz and see him turn out like Alda.

It's actually a pretty darn tragic thing to be in Bellwood's position. I can honestly see Bellwood wanting desperately for his soul to be destroyed for the good of the world at this point. The reason Bellwood spent 50K years in sleep was because of the things I said above there. He realized his sins, so he realized that him merely being present in the world caused unspeakable harm. Even if Sinful Chains willingly released Bellwood, or the Alda gods managed to rip Sinful Chains' chains away from him, Bellwood would have likely still just sat there. Sinful Chains said it himself, Bellwood could have left at any time and his ability was doing nothing to bind him. Bellwood decided to stay under the effects of Sinful Chains 100% of his own volition because he saw it as his just punishment and the best thing for the safety of the world if he just stayed there and wollowed in the vision of his own sins.

If anything, I'm betting if Van doesn't wind up eating Bellwood, Bellwood will immediately request for Van to release Sinful Chains so that he can go back to sitting in misery being reminded of his own sins. That's just how bad off Bellwood is at this point. He did a LOT of bad, and he knows it, and he is not running away from that fact, and he realizes exactly how bad he screwed up. It's really a shame he can't give Heinz any advice, because I really do think he could learn something from the current Bellwood.
