Hmmm. Movie just for simple enjoyment. There is a lot of anime films.

And those Movies based on the TV series. They tend to be kinda mediocre but if you like the TV series you are likely to enjoy the movies. Some includes:

Pokemon movies
One Piece movies
Naruto movies
Yu Yu Hakushuo movies
Dragon Ball movies
Doreamon movies
etc.

 

Everything is relative, so yea that's one way to look at it but if we are to analyse things differently, let's say from the view point of the mangaka who wanted to make broly, a character with his own fanbase into a canon Dragonball character, the guy had to explain lots of things and cram necessary details not to mention DragonBall is action based mostly so it is understandable that many found that much story... let's say too much? I mean when you say Dragonball, you expect much action and less plot, the movie however, gave more focus to the plot and perhaps too much time for the plot, anyway, those used to the usual 'rhythm' of dragonball with lots *BOOM* and *BAAM* through the movie, would definitely share your same viewpoint as they probably don't give much attention to the story and would focus more on the action and battle, older generations of fans (those who followed dragonball series from the first Dragonball season then Z, then GT, Kai, then super and of course the older movies) and those who follow both the plot and action since the beginning would definitely pay attention to the details and the story of the movie, would differ and notice the clear and obvious changes that combined both the old style of the mangaka with the newer adaptations of the anime, not to mention, the movie also debuted the character Gogeta who also was a non canon character in the older movies, so... that's another way to judge the movie

 

I liked the Kizumonogatari trilogy, Redline, and NGNL: Zero. There's also the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya and the Fate/ stay night: Heaven's Feel stuff if you've already watched the anime series for them. Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time are really good. Some people liked Koe no Katachi.

Well I just like this particular film, not much. I liked the dub of this show though, the subs' fine but doesn't really fit the MC's voice for me.

Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie - Poltergeist Report

 

Was about to introduce No Game No Life Zero as well, but isn't that movie a tearjerker? I cried during the ending.
