    Hello all

    I’ve recently been reading comments for novels and I’m not ashamed to say that they have a pretty good influence on whether I choose to read a novel. So with that in mind I thought, “Hey what’s the best/worst comment I’ve read?” and decided with that thought, to make it a post and ask you all that same question.

    Btw I’m promptly heading back into all my novel summary’s in my reading list to find out the answer to my own question. Also I’m pretty sure(?) this has been done before but meh.

    the worst comments i have ever read is that people complaining how the MC doesn't do things they wanted and was directed at the translator and i was wtf why are you complaining it to him... and also it wasnt in the MCs personality to do that anyway...

    Not a novel, but on the comment section of a manga called 'Black God' someone was complaining about there being no Morgan Freeman despite the title. And that hilarious comment immediately sold me the manga. Haha

    Asking for Translator to drop the novel due to slow release and better let someone MTL it,
    so the the series will be released more frequent

    Comments by people who read novels despite the genre and later complain about how overused/hateful is the genre. (Yup. Not even the story, genre)

    Doomed to be Cannon Fodder's comment section where people wrote their own little mini-skits featuring the characters. It was super cute and made the reading experience that much better.

    Comments by people who have clearly read ahead, but are masking their spoilers as 'I wonder if x will happen guys??' to try and earn 'I told you so!' internet points down the road.

    Worst Comment: People Complaining about slow release of the translator even though they translate daily without payment. Arguing the raws are ahead so they should translate faster.

    Seriously I read people complaining about this with Rainbow Turtle (novel) and Allen (manhua) even it's daily release.
    Like what the hell trash reader get a life!

    If its CoS/MoE etc that might be the case. For ATG and frens you read the arc name and you have a solid grasp on how it is gonna end by rule of drama and the biggest possible asspull. If you read without thinking its a different matter but the more novels you read, especially of the same genre, the easier these predictions become. The shittier the novel the easier it becomes as well.

    Ofc the barely masked spoilers exist as well, but they are the exception.

    For the worst comments... well. The entire ATG comment section wins the price for the most retarded average.

    Worst comment I've ever read? Hmm, it'd have to be one where the guy said he felt bad for the mc and ml's failed relationship because they both seemed disinterested in physical intimacy. *shrugs* It ticked me off at the time because I couldn't respond to him, but I'm pretty sure he didn't even know asexualism was a thing. Now if that's what the author was going for in the end, who knows?

    Ahem, I'll have you know that I am just extremely accurate with my guesses! Of course, I'm also really off the mark sometimes...and I don't read ahead. Okay, well...I must admit I have guessed ahead but didn't comment and then turned to the next chapter only to be peoven right...so I go back to the previous chaptwr and comment...never did that with light novel's though, only fanfiction and the site I read on discourages others from reading comments by making it its own seperate page haha.

    Best comments I've read in novel update is comments that structured like professional review....they give me good understanding of what i will read
    The worst is wrong genre comments
    I mean I've seen comments that trash talk a novel because the novel lack of action or mc is too passive or meek or something similar while the novel is a slice of life comedic genre
