The average E Rank Quests give 9 LC. Most adventurers are hunting for quests, as repeatable quests do not appear frequent enough. Quests get updated per week, which means that it will take a week before adventurers can get new jobs.

So... I am supposed to believe that everyone can afford that meal on a daily basis?

 

Because i would be a friendly one and an adventurer?

 

Lore-wise E rank adventurers are literally bottom feeders that cannot find better job elsewhere. They could eat the worst food twice a day and stay somewhere free and still save a bit of that 9LC. While E rank quests are generally simple enough to be done quickly and thus allowing them to take more in the same week.

For them to save 5LC to splurge at, say, celebrating rank-up to D is perfectly normal.

 

You know... If they live in an inn, pay for repairing fee for weapon and such, plus two decent meals each day. 8 coppers can't be enough sometimes...

Yep. That is correct. Equipment repair don't happen on a daily basis, but it food and rent alone would take 3 LC every day... That is 21 LC per week.
Which is why people don't rent rooms nor eat much food, I guess; it would lessen the costs.

In the first place, if your character infiltrates some random (evil or dead) adventurer, then my character wouldn't even know that your character is a parasite.

OOC and IC are two separate matters after all.

 

@pirateking36 a 'parasite' with benefits for both host and 'parasite' is termed a symbiont.

 

The inn cost in particular need to be knocked down or changed to weekly, but otherwise it's a good system. Character than can live off the wild generally incur less living cost.

 

Yep. Just like Zoan, who's been living in an unknown place, eating raw meat even though he could have cooked it, wearing animal pelt even though he could have boiled it... The parasites inside his body will kill him faster than his adventures at this rate.

 

Well, that is if he wants to play two characters. If he wants to play as the parasite alone, then his character might as well be called a parasite, and use a starving orc or a dead corpse as his host. (Unsure about the corpse thing by the way.)

(Side note, I am perplexed about this article, as for now, I neither agree or disagree, I see pros and cons, my mindset is wait and see. But some people just overdramatize it, so it is annoying when I try to search something reliable about it.)

Lots of bars are actually restaurants as well, they do both.

Well, it might sound too much, but I prefer to pay too much than too little.
And then, even if it's a tavern, you can always find something expensive, then, something truly precious will reach silver coins, IMO.
Like old wines. And bar/taverns/etc always have at the very least a dozen slumbering somewhere...
...or from what I have seen during little trips, perhaps it's just where I am.

Mhmmmmm.... I think if I had to celebrate a rank-up, I would use dozens of LCC... at most half a silver, so 50LCC, or perhaps 75... or 100 while I am at it... okay 100 is too much, but 75 though...

Dunno, I'd imagine one night at an inn costing thrice as much as a cheap meal seems about right?

And well, people could always share inn rooms to cut down costs or just sleep in a barn or something?

It would be fun for us... but what about the Evil of Edhellen? What about the nobles plotting to hold Jack captive? Surely not even Jack -who's killed countless cultists as if they were bugs- would be able to stand a whole empire?

Hm? He can do that? Even though everyone who started at E Rank shouldn't be able to hold up against 5 goblins? Heh~ I wonder how long it will take before everyone will treat Jack as a living god?

Basically I believe that the empire should:
1. Hold Jack captive
2. Threaten the Baron's daughter to work for the empire
3. If possible, brainwash and/or convince him to work for the empire against the beastmen
3.1. If impossible, dispose on sight
3.1.1 Do not forget anti-mana-shackles
