    I remember when Kumo no desu ka went on extended hiaus due to the author gearing up for the LN release and Raising The Dead Translations did an April Fools release announcement that it was being canceled.

    Even though the "announcement video" featured a slightly remixed version of the Flintstones opening song a large portion of users took it seriously (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they just read the announcement and fled in absolute despair without watching the video) and for months after that day everyone kept treating the cancellation of the series as fact.

    It wasn't until releases temporarily resumed that people finally understood it was a prank and they should have realized the date the announcement was made.

    Or at least the translators themselves should add a * 5 to the chapter names to be *513* for example

    Plus some readers would get legit pissed.

    There is also the issue of cleaning up afterwards because these "pranks" stop being funny when its july and you find a prank chapter while bing reading. So I think a lot of translators just got tired of it.
