I am trying to remember a novel I read before about a guy who i think goes into this "dream"-like state where he enters a village that has grand masters that teaches him different crafting methods (blacksmith, artifact crafting, potion making)

nope, i think it starts off as he learns blacksmithing from an old man first but he was required to go mine some ores first
Then later on these grandmasters are trying to fight for him to teach him their craft
