I remember the first time I use internet, the first thing I search on internet was 'porn'. Well I can't helped it at that time, I was too curious and lack of knowledge of this kind of thing. Spoiler: The song that change my life
>be me >First Year of Junior High >a few weeks of school >Was given an assignment on greek gods >Had to research a given god >Later that day >First time renting a computer >Use Bing >Type Hestia >Did you mean Hentai.png >Clicks link >Pubescent Brain stopped working >Now have f*cked up fetishes in my early 20's Now here we are. I still remember and can find the first image I saw.
I really don’t remember when I personally got on Internet. In fact when I opened my first email I think I still didn’t know what internet was... in a way. Funnily enough I suppose I was actually exposed to Internet much much earlier than I could remember coherently. My dad had the old dial up on old computer system, it was still the blue screen with white letters kind. As a kid you sort of take things as is. And a blue screen with white letters was just not interesting for me to look at.
I think it was opening internet explorer to research my high school paper or something. All i remember is that it took so long to load and i had to pay a lot for the hourly rate.
does anyone remember limewire? i had been using the internet for a couple years prior to that what with yahoo searches and AOL dialup, but i dont remember much of that. i mostly remember how great of a discovery i felt i made when i first used limewire
First memory of it was family members dial up, but I don’t remember well. I mainly played games on computer or console which didn’t need net. I do remember my first LAN party though. Facebook either wasn’t a thing or wasn’t popular yet. Browsers were Netscape or Internet Explorer. One of my funniest memories is friends looking up bl pairings at a birthday party. I went to the other room and played on GameCube alone. A certain image of overly muscled anime characters holding eachother close still haunts me; the characters were like 12 year olds so it broke my brain a little to see them aged and paired up like that. :|
The first thing I did was look for some video games & I happened to saw an ad for a mmorpg game with some pretty nice anime style graphics. I got instantly addicted to that game to the point I wouldn't sleep or eat properly for days. After few months I joined an active guild & got along with the people in there. That's how I became a scum. I would flirt with my in game friends to no end. Then I got in a relationship that time, but I didn't stopped having ambiguous relationship with others. Things got pretty ugly after few months, so I made a different character without anybody knowing & restarted everything... Without being an asshole that time of course
That was so long ago. There is no facebook. Not even Myspace exist at those time. Internet was a boring place. You are almost just reading plain text. Pictures are a rarity. My first experience with internet amounts to a small curiosity and a meh reaction.
Using Lycos city and Infoseek to find stuff, Encarta, Microsoft dangerous creatures Playing Rogue, NetHack and Doom, went on-line and played MUDs on my own cause I had no friends. Yeah~~~ I know old... or precocious.... maybe both.
The 1st thing I saw from the internet is something so profound and thought provoking which is "2 Girls 1 Cup".
Funny thing is... I do remember a time when it wasn't really meant for porn... U could only really connect via terminal, html wasn't quite around yet. So u could only really use it for work or ascii games.
I was used to seeing computers because my dad used them for his music writing programs, but the first time I saw internet was when I was 8 or 9 years old. My dad said "Hey, want to see? I use this to check email, weather and news"* and he gave me permission to mess with it. I was very excited, wondering all the things I might be able to look for and see on there. I clicked to open the browser, went to the bathroom, came back, went to get a snack, came back again and it was still loading. When it finally loaded, I clicked a random link, went and read a picture book, came back, went to play with the cat, came back and it was still loading. So I completely lost interest and went back to playing outside. It was so slow that kicking a hole in dirt was more interesting. *(It was AOL, America Online)
The first time i touched the internet, i was greeted with porn sites. I didn't realise that time since i thought the internet was full of my uncle's hidden porn stash on his laptop. It turns out that my brother actually forgot to close the last page he had opened and i discovered the dark side of the internet.
Geosites under-construction 2 frame gifs. Both the blinking ones and the guy that moved his shovel. Think I lost or won a Tibetan sun game and my opponent wrote some German. So I copied it and asked it on a random guestbook of some site what it meant, don't remember looking up if there was a reply.
Just for the record, you don't "answer by yourself" by looking anything up in a book either. As for the topic about internet, in a way I found out about it in elementary school because I played online games. But it wasn't until middle school when I played flash games (mostly on the school PCs) through the webbrowser (internet explorer lul) that I started to really get to know the things that come to mind when you think about 'internet'. Facebook didn't exist at the time, but youtube did. I remember those stupid videos I'd find so hilarious like 'I like trainzzzzzz', 'I love turtles', and so on... Anyway, for me it was mostly youtube, Dragon Fable, and random ass flash games. (later at some point in junior high I saw an ad on youtube about adventure quest worlds, I played a lot of that...)
