I hate the harem genre. So I hope you could recommend me some good novels with the harem genre that I have avoided. My favorite novel on this site is Warlock of the Magus World which has the harem genre, but it doesn't really feel like a harem and the "harem" does not slow down/hinder plot progression. So I wonder if I have missed some good novels because I avoid that genre. Some novels I have avoided: Wu Dong Qian Kun Martial God Asura Emperor’s Domination Sovereign of the Three Realms Chaotic Sword God Would be nice if you could tell me if the novels mentioned or others in the same genre are something for me to read. I do not want to read about a mc spending 50% of his time maintaining a harem.

Avoid MGA AT ALL COSTS Read ED ABSOLUTELY SOTR is also okay but the girls sometimes become hindrance but they also bring good points in the story so depends on you. WDQK.....i have not read it but i have read the other works of the author which have improved over the years but as this is an earlier work so i think instead of harem the story is only subpar or below even CSG no idea about this one
Have you read Mushoku Tensei? Harem isn't really the focus of this novel IMO. (Note that Baka-Tsuki translated it and has since removed it from their site, so you'll have to look for the pdfs or epub of the translations somewhere else.)
I "know" it's not a harem but that's kinda why I'm making this post, In case other novels are labeled wrong, or not the main part of the novel.
Actually because the protagonist has 2 ladies with whom he officially has sex and also has kids the people misunderstand and add harem tag to it even if the mc himself is only doing it to increase his lineage and is only married to one woman

but that is the reason that the polygamy tag exist. you wouldn't put the martial arts genre on a school romance novel because in all the novel there is one character that threw one punch once. it is not the main theme/ focus of the novel so it is not a genre
I have a hard time finding anything new to read that already has a lot of chapters translated, would be sad to miss Magus World only because it's labeled "harem".
I agree with @DocB 's sentiment, WMW is not a harem novel. Yes he casually fucks some women, yes he even later technically has two wives and two children + a bunch of other children that don't even get named from concubines, but all of that has literally 0 with the novel to do. They women are just lumps of flesh to serve Leylin's carnal desires. And his children are merely potential lab rats for bloodline experiments... Let's just say that they're fortunate Leylin's power grew too fast for him to ever have the need to dissect them or run any kind of horrifying experiments... With that out of the way, I'd say stay the fuck away from all of those novels listed. Imo they're all extremely trashy, the only exception here could be ED as I never read it, and from what I've heard it seems like the Harem aspect isn't really emphasized either. Other than that, I actually read a shameful amount of CSG, something like 700 chapters. And honestly at no point was it particularly good but I just liked it even though I was constantly angry and frustrated with the novel, if not for a particularly awful moment Spoiler: minor spoiler where the MC's parents get killed for no reason I probably would have read even more. So I want to say that of the novels listed Chaotic Sword God is the least bad, but I can't really recommend anyone reading it.
