Or more specifically, what made you fall in love with Anime/Manga/Novels?

We’ve all gone through that phase when we whatched and read stuff without actually knowing it was anime/manga/novels. And then there’s the one series that makes your brain explode and turn you full blown otaku.

So, what was that series for you?

Well, for me, the anime that really made me appreciate anime for what it is was Sket Dance. I still love it even now. But for the twelve-year-old me, it was a piece of wonderland. Comedy, Drama, Action, it had everything.
The second anime that’s special to me is Yuri!!! On Ice, coz that’s what made me fall in love with BL (and Victor’s voice)

In manga, Akatsuki no Yona was, is and will be my favourite. It was so awesome that it made the shy me open up to people and recommend it to all my friends (one of them turned otaku thanks to that)

As for novels, Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka is something I absolutely adoooooore.
Also Kiss the Black Cat, because I didn’t know it in 2015 when I first read it, but it played a huge role in me deciding to TL novels.

I Love Sket Dance!! I've seen it twice. But I went down this rabbit hole pretty early, like most people these days. It started with Crayon Shin Chan, and then I started watching anything animated. I particularly liked Kaleido Star, Skip Beat, Daphne, Michiko to Hatchin, etc.

I started reading LMS(I dropped it after 30+ volume), and then I fell inlove with Kumo Desu Ga, Slime Tensei, Ascendance of Bookworm.

And then I delved into chinese novels too.

And I also read English fictions....fan fictions....sometines literature.

And TV shows in diff languages....

    I need help.

Animax here as well, To be more precise InuYasha. Before watching it, I wouldn't have imagined their could be so many emotions in a cartoon(Later found out they were anime).

Saw a couple episodes of Naruto on TV when I was little, later on around Middle School, I got my own laptop. I suddenly remembered Naruto and wanted to watch more and looked it up. That's what started my journey. I really don't remember which anime it was that made me start reading manga, but I remember my very first manhua was zui wu dao, then it was Tales of Demons and Gods which got me into novel reading.

Probably dbz was my first anime when I was a 3-4 year old(I just remembered goku's side-stepping during his fight with burter and jeice, it was very difficult to search for it when the only scene you remember is shoes and the shape of the dirt around it). From there i watched naruto, Pokemon in my native language, and finally animax sealed the deal for me. I watched yu yu hakusho, inuyasha and many more and when my TV was removed the internet just opened up many, many more possibilities.

it was a mix for me, my first animes were Koi Koi Seven, Eyeshield 21, and Princess Resurrection but i still didnt know they were anime. They were the reasons why i got interested in anime but when i moved to canada 2 years after last watching anime, i finally learned about them adn then rewatch Eyeshield 21 afterwards fastfoward a few months later No game no life came out, learned about pirated sites and went on my journey to being an otaku.

One year later i learned about manga since i wanted to follow Fairy tail plot and then comes my manga fanatic for like another 1-2 years.

at one point i started reading Douluo Dalu Manga and after catching up to the latest chapter i searched for the next one on google and came across the novel version of it then onto my journey where i read Re:monster, LMS and followed mangaupdates to read more novels mainly for Coiling Dragon where i last learned the treasure trove of novels in novelupdates

    in short
    intro: Eyeshield 21
    gateway: No game No life
    1st manga: Fairy tail
Novel: Douluo dalu -> Re:monster ->LMS ->Wuxiaworld -> everything else cus of novelupdates
Span it took me to know about the three was about 3-4 years...

I remember back when they show anime on tv. The first anime was Sailor Moon and Dragon Balls I was 4-5 years old

It was a weekend segment for all popular anime for kids/teens (since they got Gundam as well)

The first manga was Naruto and One Piece. The translations were a bit wonky back then. I read it on the local newspaper shop

Well for novel I usually read English novels since the local novels usually sappy and full with romance
