Movie John Wick

You thought this was about JW 3, but it's about the first one!
You see guys keep recommending me this serial and with the third one coming I thought hey maybe there's something to these movies so I just wacthed the first JW.
Movie summary : good action, shit plot, shit antagonist, not worth.

 

I'm only in for Keanu reeves

 

Well its a movie to lay back and chill

 

And the dog.......and then it died

 

Plot wasnt bad really. Just thin. It's classic revenge story, no more no less.

Complicated doesn't always mean good imo, I had fun watching, and that's all it needs to do. Its an action movie, not a paychological drama

 

its just headshots. watch it for them. simple formula.

 

The plot isn't worth as much other than reasons to bring in the action in the JW movies. And if the action's good enough for you, nothing else matters.

 

He shot one guy in the head twice...that doesn't make sense.

You don't find it unrealistic that a retired hitman gets gas and an idiotic son of a russian mob boss stops by and demands him to sell him his car, after being denied he tracks him down with his goons ofc, beats him up and kills his dog? Following that everyone is trying to act except for Keanu, he is just silent while people are talking to him(well that's classic Keanu actually), as I said the crime boss had terrible script to read, that shit about baba yaga lol, the monologue while Keanu is tied on a chair was so fake forced and unnecessary and wtf is his reaction when Keanu answered I agree, finally we have something in common? Wtf did he mistake this for another movie with similar scene but incompatible characters such as good and evil? There was nothing to disagree on, I think this whole movie was a bad reference to other action movies. Seriously who wrote it? Keanu Reeves?

 

I was in it for the shooting and the killing

 

You haven't ever heard of double tapping? Very rarely someone can survive a shot to the head.

 

I think that the world building was pretty good also~

 

wtf, are you a girl? The only reason that men care about plot, antagonist, MC etc in stories is because has not a fricking badass action. So the only thing that left while reading, is care about boring stuffs like plot, character etc. "aaah, but I've imagination" Me too, but is not enough, never will be better than a fricking badass man being badass in badass ways.

 

This man is a man.

 

John Wick is a classic action movie without any intricate plots or romance and shit. It's simple, you kill my dog I kill you and ~67 more people in the way of my revenge. The same continues in JW 2. You burn my house, I kill everyone (100-200 people) from Your side. JW 3 is also gonna be same. You chase and try to kill me, I kill everyone who comes. This series is all about killing, and they did an amazing job of it. The action choreography, background score, everything related to the action/killing is mind blowing. I would also suggest you watch 'the equalizer' if you haven't.

 

Isn't it a typical chinese plot: You mess with my b*tch I will come and get you.
Besides it's an action movie so you don't need anything else otherwise you better switch to another genre.
It's just that quality of the action movies is declining and JW is decent enough in comparison to all the recent ones. If you compare it to old blockbusters it is a bit lacking.

 

Isn't that for body shots and zombies?

lol I just appreciate good action movies like Saving Private Ryan, Bourne's Ultimatum, Mission Impossible, Lethal Weapon, Crank...
I just listed pure action movies even though I prefer sci-fi and fantasy ones more like Marvel and DC.

 

I find it unrealistic that the dog died.

He was pretty intense talking about how the dog was a memory of the dead wife, and Your son took that from me, he murdered that from ME!
That worked for me, and the guy trying to kill JW instead of handing over the kind of shit that kills a puppy, just added him to the list.

 

Mostly yes you would be right but some tactical training emphasises the double tap on the head especially if shooting at mulptiple targets in a stressed out combat. Somewhere you can't ensure they died the first time because you're too busy not dieing to pay attention to them again. I'm not sure if that was the case(or the only case of it) as you only mentioned he did it once and I don't remember where that was in the movie. They may have just thought "double tapping this one guy is cool. Why? Thick skull? Idk."
