from what I know there are some characters that jump between novels
so read chronologically if you want but that probably isnt a big deal
(you will probably miss the ''of fck I know this guy'' if you miss one of the novels)
edit: the cultivation system is diffrent
and first hundreads of chapters are totaly separated novels (I dont read much of er-gen but from what I read I didn see much of connections betweens novels)

Read them however you want, the relationship between them is nearly nonexistent.

The protag of PotT and RI appeared in ISStH, it might lead to some confusion regarding who the hell someone is and what they are talking about without reading the former two, but otherwise, read them at any order.
From what I know, only those three have any real connection with one another.

Nah pretty much same once you read one, you'll understand Er Gen's method of writing a novel, pretty much same concept for each books but with different colors.

    Chronologically it goes
    • Pursuit of the truth
    • Renegade immortal
    • I shall seal the heavens
    • A will eternal
Against heavens is a dropped and abandoned work by er gen

I suggest reading either Pursuit of the Truth and Renegade Immortal first, then ISSTH and AWE

You will catch some reference if you read it like this.

Though AWE is said to be way before all of them. So logically it should be read first, though I doubt if it would have any big impact on your reading if you read it first or last, but it's ending has some kind of continuation to th rest of the books sort of.

As for reading pursuit of truth and renegade immortal, you could read them however you want but reading them in chronological order will be more emotional because renegade immortal has something that is extremely important from pursuit of truth. And for ISSTH it has the MCs of the two previous books appearing or their worlds do.

So I'd suggest reading in chronological order because it would give more impact and emotion, but if not, it's not that big of an issue, you can still read them and understand

I would just be sure to read POTW and RI before ISSTH because it makes the ending a lot more meaningful
