Yes didnt say no sex just not underage sex. Best I can tell Kira was in college from what little we know about the course work(and what we could see clothing wise since even high school kids in Japan mostly have uniforms still plus what we see of them walking around eg they didnt seem to have a organized class schedule be it could have just been the weekend or something)he was doing. And it's safe to assume as zaft was winning the war at the start of the series they wouldn't be using under age soldiers which means anyone military related on their side was likely adult aged. Again that's just a guess based on google not giving me anything for their ages atleast nothing I'm seeing on my smartphone.
Manga came out after code seems to be one of those more uncommon orginal animes were on and manga comes out after the anime.
Huh no idea if that's true, at any rate I much prefer a story with more focus on the tactics, than the suits.
"Turn A Gundam" is one of my faves. The combination of space travel in a 1920's style reborn America. Plus it was a hopeful series that didn't end in tragedy like many of the early Gundams. Most of the newer Gundams are pretty crap. I liked "Seed" and "Origins" but the rest range from not that great to crap. "Unicorn" looked like it was going to be good but the plot just fell apart in Episode 2 and it never recovered. Like current Disney made Star Wars, the people making Gundam lately don't understand what made Gundam so good in the first place.
You underestimate the perversion in Japanese culture. There is a reason Under 15 Swimsuit model is a thing in Japan. No one can kid themselves that the ones buying such content are 15 year olds or people who buy it for art. https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Kira_Yamato You can see his age clearly there. He was 16 at the start of SEED
If you want hopeful, you should (if you havn't already) seriously try Gundam 00, in my opinion it's one of the most hopeful ones. Havn't personally gotten through episodes 1 of Turn a Gundam yet, might have to just get through it, as it seems much more up my alley.
Just for the record and all that, the age of consent in Japan is such that 16 year-olds having sex in an anime is quite reasonable.
I know that it is even younger in some regions or prefectures. Age of consent is 13 in parts of the world, doesn't make it okay. Japan has a phallic festival . Let us not kid ourselves. It might be a beautiful place but it has its fault none the less
I know, but the show is Japanese, so judging it by US standards, or european ones, don't really make too much sense. For the record many states in the US has ages of consent at 16, but this shouldn't be a discussion on that subject, as it's A. pointless to the issue, and B. a discussion that propably won't lead anywhere. Personally I'd just say that if you should ever consider the show, just ignore the R18 version of the show if it affronts you so much, just focus on the non-perverted version instead.
I find it a bit arrogant to assume the morality they teach in my nation is the only true morality. In the US, we're saddled with christian baggage that somehow equates sex with sin. The Japanese don't have the same baggage so they won't have the same morality. I don't believe there's an absolute "morality". It changes with culture and with the times. For example, at one point in the US, Masturbation was considered "self abuse" and people caught doing it would be punished and sometimes face surgery to prevent them from doing it again. I do find some of the things the Japanese do to be a bit much but I recognize that's only because I'm judging from a westerners eyes. It might be perfectly acceptable in Japan. 15 and 16 year old high schools students are banging each other in the US. Do we just pretend it's not happening? It's even legal because of the legal dancing we do around the 18 year old age of consent. Back to "Seed". In the original version there was no sex though a relationship was implied. The sex scenes, such as they are, were added when it was remade into a sort of widescreen mode. I have both versions.
To my very honest opinion (I just tried watching the aforementioned scene from the show), it's quite tame, and honestly a bit boring. I personally don't see what all the fuss is about. Sex is literally a fundamental part of what it's like to be human, to ignore or villify that, is in my honest opinion a huge flaw in western society, it doesn't help anyone, and if anything it just makes sex way more exciting for young people.
Sorry but your post is pretty ignorant. The Japanese themselves have recognized that they have a problem. Try reading actual articles about Japan. I won't bother to discuss with you any further. Best of luck to you. I watch content for entertainment. It is not about whether I am judging their culture or that. Mila Kunis was 15 on That 70s show. It is not about discriminating or offering unbiased criticism. When it comes to entertainment, I prefer something that doesn't have any of my pet peeves that I can enjoy thoroughly. I am not a masochist. Watching something I don't enjoy to show magnanimity will be stupid
Some think they have an issue like the fake UNESCO which is trying to ban loli manga and stuff as we must protect the (fake and not real)children. The reality how ever is different Japan in real life is sexless far to sexless their population growth is so negative some estimates put them having half the population they have now by 2050. Their to aged and dont have enough young to replace those dieing and to take care of the old. They need to be encouraging more sex and families(far to many remain marriageless) as well.
I never said you had to watch it, I just gave my opinion on the matter. If you took it as though I was trying to preach to you, then I apologise, that was not my intention, I merely stated what I believe to be true. And now as proper adults, we can agree to disagree. And I never said you had to watch the show, heck I don't care if you do, or don't, I merely said that if you wanted to watch it, do so with the non-sexual version (which if we're going with our earlier discussion about whether or not the manga was canon, we came to the conclusion, that as it was made later, then no it wasn't, neither is the speciel edition the one that came first, so it too, is not the canon version so to speak). Is the show still edgy as all hell though? Heck yes it is, and I for one, don't really care about it.
The Japanese goal is not to be embarrassed. They're not happy when the west judges them to be immoral so they'll play lip-service and pass laws to bring themselves into some sort of compliance with global standards. If you look at current porn manga, they've simply increased the breast sizes to comply. There's less nudity in broadcast anime but it all comes out in the blu-rays. This is the reality in Japan. They talk a good game, make a bunch of porn, have sexualized comics and novels but nobody is having real sex.
Haha, I admit it was more of a reply to the other dude. Seed is just not my cup of tea. I watched the non sexual version years ago and dropped it because it was too edgy as you said. If I remember correctly, the sexual relationship made it even more edgy. Haha, Japanese anime and sex usually take a crazy turn. School Days comes to mind, I mixed it up with another show so I accidentally watched it. I have no issue with sex. I just prefer they be at least 18. It is purely personal.
From what I know, men hide behind lolis. Instead of facing real women, basically my point on underaged girls. Most famous Japanese actresses began as underaged models. When men prefer kids over real women, then you have a problem. Preferring eroge to real women is also an issue. https://soranews24.com/2012/11/25/j...-retaliates-with-a-surprise-at-the-reception/ Nothing wrong with sex but they prefer the deviant kind : tentacles for one
In that case we have no problems, for the record I despise school days, though that's more to do with A. how edgy that show was, and B. how tastelessly the main character acted.
Rejection likely plays a big part in it as well. Nothing sucks more then to confess to someone and be rejected Japanese men dont seem to handle it well and tureln to stuff that won't or cant reject them eg 2d girls.
