doesn't use the same tag system then NU ? Also i am sure there are fellow yaoi/BL and yuri/GL lovers that are really annoyed that they don't have the tags for what they want. Sure you can find some by searching the word and you find a series where in the description the author wrote the word but not all do that.
NU tag and genre system is stupid, illogical ad in real need of of change, but tony refuse to change it cause it would "break" the site and won't be worth it
I don't think the tags and genres system is stupid, they help alot. About the ad, if you don't want to see them, you can just use Adblock.
NU = novel index of translated works RR = platform to host writers work are two different concept, the tag for a site doesn't suit the other....
I dunno about that. I found many fun and awesome stories using the tag system and it's easy to get an idea about what kind of story to expect.
It's always different in every website. Even mangadex had isekai as genre unlike NU. Unless you want to make an international standard.

I find the tagging system on RRL and other sites to limiting. Half the time I just wana search for litrpg with a few other tags excluded and half the time the ones that matter are missing. I dont have that issue with NU
I like the ad's..... maybe a bit too much as they seem to know exactly what I want. >_> If we got weird pop ups and stuffs, that would be bad though... would ruin the reading mood. <_<

so you have adult, mature and smut that are pretty much the same thing, with smut being any of the other two combined with josei martial arts and wuxia that only diferentiates if the novel is chinese and most wuxia will eventually have martial art genre then you have tags like short story and oneshot that tell you only about number of chapter or adapte to/from with no link to those sources naive/incoherent spomething protagonist that is as pointless to put them cause the most it can say is that there will be no chatracter growth, and wait there is also a tag called character growth redudant tags like alchemy, pill concotion pill cultivation generic tags like books
NU tag is a mess. Let see, I'll take A Sorcerer Journey as an example because it's the first one in my reading list. Monsters, Fantasy Creatures, Mythical Beasts. - Umm, what's the point? Witch, Wizard - Their description is literally the same except male or female. ( They also said that Witch might be referred as Wizards and vice versa. )
Having Male protag or Female protag would be nice for exemple. At least when i search in the romance list i won't become disappointed when reading a cool summary or title i see in the summary the word "she" or "he" (for other peoples).
