Already bought it before, but it's an interesting thing they're doing. Don't know if you can go in freely and do what you want or if it's limited to a few quests only, but probably could garner more attention or goodwill if they immediately made some updates or free DLCs that focus on the Notre Dame, both inside and outside, maybe something as small as going for a guided tour and being informed of the art or maybe sitting through a normal prayer session, both of which gives achievements. Basically, something to give more chances to view it as it was. Although, if they do it too poorly, it'll be seen as a pretty ... immoral thing to do.
Thanks for the info! It's a full-game giveaway. It looks like they're also offering the 3D model for the cathedral's reconstruction. Kudos to them for that.
No i meant ingame action. I also heard of the 3D model, then everyone's saying 'It will be used' instead of might be used.' Though they couldn't actually copy all the art due to copyright I believe, so do they have that still scanned and then ignored when added to the game or just replaced / censored?
Oh. My bad, then. well, as far as I know, it's more of 'it might be used', as the officials haven't responded to ubisoft's offer. I haven't played unity, so I don't know how it actually looked like in-game, but it looks like they were slighly altered.
So I read some more articles about it, and you know what caught my attention ? Discovery Tour for Odyssey and Origins (or whatever that Egypt one was called). If they can quickly make that happen , but only for Notre Dame, then they would get a PR boost. And if they made the Discovery Tour with the exact copies of the real things, even better. But they would have... maybe a month at best, to look good while doing that, anything slower unless proven really good, wouldn't be as good.
I know there's a US university that has an almost millimeter perfect scan of the entire cathedral that's also been offered to the french govt. i figure between the two, they'd have it covered completely. thanks for the alert OP
