It's not really music focused, but some artists can play music that help with cultivation. There's this one master that's really good at it. The MC wins some kind of competition and gets to learn from this master. He gets snubbed at first but after some face-slapping the master realizes his potential and teaches him. The MC also has a love interest that he can't be with and an antagonist that's interested in the female lead. The antagonist invites over the music master for some celebration in honor of the girl, but the MC shows up instead and plays for the girl. -------------------------------------- I think there may also have been something about the MC's father and grandfather getting imprisoned as part of a conspiracy or something.
