Discussion If You Could Turn A Novel Into A Game...

I'm pretty sure that everybody has thought at some point that a certain novel or comic would make an awesome videogame. So I figured I'd start this thread and ask you all, if you could turn any one novel, comic, manga, webtoon, etc into a real life virtual reality game which would you pick? It could be something like Tower of God, or even a VRMMORPG from a novel like Eternal Life from One Man Army. It could be a certain cultivation novel. I personally believe that Paradise of Demonic Gods would make a great game. How about you?

 

Not a novel but I would really want to see an Air Gear game that's well made.

 

Reincarnator or PLIC

 

Praise the Orc would be fun, even The Gamer would be if they rid of the whole deity aspect.

 

Mga would be the best game ever

 

If we could get a virtual reality game that you see in anime of stuff like CD, ISSTH, RI, I would donate every organ in my body just for a year of playtime.

 

Lets roll it all into Dungeons & Dragons, since it like the granddaddy to most of these.

 

The Fate series with free roam

 

all you need is kill

there is no save file, you just live, die, repeat and learn how to trigger flags that proceed the story, basically, just like how timeloop is.

PS Most VRMMO novels would make terrible games because their game mechanics are more about making the MC a special snowflake rather than actual game mechanics. Most people wouldn't play the games.

 

Ero and Smut novels. I believe they would make great games

 

Wuxia novel. Damn these kind of novels are very good game material, I mean just look at tales of wuxia is pretty much good wuxia game that needs some polishing but as far as I know it is the best wuxia game.

 

The Earth is Online definitely, though it'd probably be really hard to make into a videogame given how detail-oriented some of the games are

 

agree. LMS has too many content that its absurd to count the quests...

 

They make a shitty mobile game with all the micro-transactions that barely has anything to do with the source material.

 

Made in Abyss would make one pretty neat action adventure game. Not a multiplayer but still

 

Ancient Strengthening Techniques. Collecting waifu game.

 

Goblin slayers seems fun(killing goblin hordes)
Undefeated god of war is definitely a good fighting game, lots of individual fight and could be a semi war strategy game.

 

LMS is what I immediately thought of as well. The depth is great and you don't have game designers screwing with the game.
