I'm looking for and Chinese novels that have the mc goes to join a sect or well school has to have at least a tournament arc where the student go out into the wild and compete in teams or against one another. Needs to be a cultivation world no modern stuff please. I'm just trying to compile a list, thx.
Well OP mentioned that he's compiling a list. So maybe listing the obvious would be ok? Martial world True Martial World Duoluo dalu Ze Tian Ji
Hm, in that case.... I got nothing other than what you listed. Maybe Against the Gods? Absolute Choice too.
Damn, isn't tournament and auction arc is basic template for some every single xianxia - xuanhuan novel? Btw i recomend A Will Eternal. There's many competitions. This novel completely translated.
It's quite the common trope. Douluo Dalu series Martial World True Martial World Against the Gods Martial God Asura Battle Through the Heavens Battle Frenzy Tempest of Stellar War Genius Doctor Black Belly Miss The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Long Live Summons Heavenly Jewel Change The Great Ruler The Portal of Wonderland Talisman Emperor Sovereign of Three Realms
Science-Cultivation: Forty Millenniums of Cultivation. Starts with the MC going to school, progresses to the MC going to High School. Has a few tournament arcs between facilities in the schools the MC is in. Based in a Futuristic Cultivation World where they actually half-understand cultivation, which is why I called it Science-Cultivation, and a significant amount of the story is all about how awesome the MC is. Once Upon A Time, There was a Spirit Blade Mountain. Cultivation Novel. Starts with the MC joining the smallest of the major sects, Spirit Blade Mountain, in a joining competition arc. Later has an inter-Major Sect Tournament, which the MC participates in. A number of significant acts are about people acting in the interest of, or for the honor of, their Sect. Zhanxian (Immortal Executioner). MC, before being returned to his younger self, was part of a sect that fell apart from the inside. After returning, he (after setting himself up for a better foundation) rejoined said sect and actively propelled it to glory. No inter sect tournaments, but inter sect politics and betrayal is a regular and noteworthy plot point fairly often for a while. Immortal Mortal. MC joins a school, but doesn't do much in relation to the actual school itself. MC joins a sect as a leader, but doesn't have extensive interactions with said sect. Same for the Sect the MC forms. Basically fits the letter of the request, but not the spirit. Actually, I suspect that most Cultivation Stories fit under the banner of Immortal Mortal, stories that fit the letter but not the spirit. Either they start in a sect and get kicked out, only for the MC to grow beyond their limits and either protect them or otherwise discover that they were destroyed, or they join and never really have any significant interactions with their sect or school. Martial God Space, for example, fits in a nebulous zone. He joins a school and actively receives protection from the school. He grows stronger from the missions he receives from the school, and even represents the school in an inter-school competition. However, he's also called out to fight to the death by other members of the school on more than one occasion, and rarely actually interacts with other students or teachers. So does that count as him being a proper member of the school?
