Spoiler Mangoes. The sweet tropical fruit that many know and love. They are sometimes red, sometimes yellow, sometimes green. But they are always yellow inside. According to Wikipedia-sensei, Mangoes are juicy stone fruit (drupe) from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit. The majority of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes. The genus belongs to the cashew family Anacardiaceae. Mangoes are native to South Asia,[1][2] from where the "common mango" or "Indian mango", Mangifera indica, has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the tropics. Other Mangifera species (e.g. horse mango, Mangifera foetida) are grown on a more localized basis. Spoiler Ok, so you knew what mangoes are. And if you didn't know, well, you know now. But that wasn't the reason why you clicked this thread. You clicked this thread to find out the truth about mangoes. Whether it's their glossy mango skin or their tangy and aromatic flavor, you've always found them suspicious. As though they were hiding something... Well, you've come to the right place. This is where the truth shall be revealed. Please take this time to find a place to sit, or better yet, lie down because what I'm about to reveal might turn your world-views upside-down. Yes, it's that serious. Ok. Are you ready? Take some deep breaths. I'm just going to say it. Actually, let's put it in a spoiler so you have more time to mentally prepare yourself. Please think carefully about whether you want to continue reading or not. This revelation might be too difficult for some to handle. Last warning. Don't be too hasty in your decision. But if you really must know the truth, click on the spoiler below. I lied. This is the last warning. Spoiler: The Truth The truth is, mangoes are actually lemons in disguise. Ok, I know this might sound unbelievable, but think about it. They're both sort of oval in shape. Mangoes are yellow inside (just like lemons). When mangoes are raw, they're sour (like lemons). They're both approximately the same size (mangoes are slightly larger than lemons but my theory is that the size difference is because the lemons wear mango costumes that cover their entire bodies so of course mangoes would look bigger than lemons). Now that you know the truth, it's time to let the world know. But please don't tell them where you gained this knowledge from. (I fear that certain organizations might be after my life if they knew that I was the one who revealed this top-secret information.) Thank you for reading. And please, STAY SAFE STAY FRUITY
