Discussion Just Visit Volare Today For The First Time In Months... Wth QI?

isnt webnovel owned by Qi? That aside I dunno what ya'll are bitchin' about, it looks NOTHING ALIKE. Know what it DOES looks like? It looks like its old site but with some dope upgrades. It looks like their old website was in her awkward teenage years and now she's older. She has her makeup down pat, her figure filled out, wearing designer clothes....she's looking sleek and sexy AF.

10/10 would smash.

 

The webdesign is basically the only good thing about QI/Webnovel though.

Before this Volare basically copied Gravity Tales' web design and now QI's.

 

No idea. One day the site just fell and never got up.

I dunno man, still a lotta differences. I'll admit they do have similarities though, i'll give ya that. I stand by my previous would tho. The smashing is still on. If anything there's now just a possibility for having a sister sandwich.

Personally i like the changes so im biased. But QI knows how to make a nice looking site, cant lie. People copying it isnt surprising.
As for MBC...Is it? I mean i just never see it here anymore. At least not enough for me to notice, and im here literally every day. Weird. I'll have to go check it out, see whats new.

 

QI has one of the most good-looking sites. But their Nightmode is a pain for me on the phone. ( Still good on PC tho. )

 

Oh yeah i have that turned on constantly whenever a site has the option. Tho i use the ps4 web browser for almost everything despite having a tablet and PC. Which means when im reading sometimes the site glitches out and shit.

I really need to stop being such a lazy cunt like that. Get up and actually use them for something other than porn.

Tho i know i'll never use them again once the Ps5 comes out. That thing'll practically be a computer itself and im pretty sure it'd run porn just as well as the PC. Probably

 

Ahoy! Seeing as the website redesign was one of the last big projects I worked on before stepping down last year, I feel I should pipe in.

Our old design was based off Wordpress. Cumbersome, not tailored to our needs (translators had to manually create the HTML that went into every page, no automatic TOC updating, etc), and as it turns out, not secure at all. Ironically, the site was hacked just several days before we went live with the new site, which only further illustrated the need to move off Wordpress.

I found a wonderful designer to do the front end, which originally had quite a few more elements from the old site's homepage, but sadly I failed utterly to find a decent programmer. I tried for a year and a half, and ended up only with frustration and heartache. So in the end, we ended up paring down features for launch and having to wade through a ton of junk code. As it turns out, the front end wasn't coded that well either. :\

But yes, having been around the scene for a while, I've experienced a lot of website designs myself and wanted to take the best of all the worlds I've experienced. Some of the stuff that didn't make the cut on day one would set the homepage off a lot more differently. We had sections for translator opinion pieces, email subscriptions, and the like.

What is an improvement over the old site? A working night mode, bookmarks, highlighted announcements, and a helluva less burden on translators. Thank you for checking the site out! Hit night mode, you might like the aesthetic much better.

[edit] volare is not with QI. But I did like some elements of their site.

 

I simply hope that volare is still volare

 

Although scrolling is great on PC, I felt like it drained more than necessary battery and data from my phone. I don't know, it's just my feeling.
