Long story short, my grandmother passed a bit over a year ago and I'm still clearing out her stuff. One of the things she collected was dolls and I'm not trying to make tons of money off it, but I'm trying not to get ripped off either. I came across one doll that people are showing special interest in and I don't know why. In order to track down this particular doll I need to find out what the tag says and that's where I'm hoping the community can help me out.

I took a few photos just in case.

I just had Annabelle flashbacks, sorry.

Is that from a collection? Are you in China/Japan?

That's already better than I had. I tried doing a Google Image search of both the tag and the doll respectively and Google gave me pretty much nothing. Thank you.

I recommend writing down the upper part of the tag on paper and uploading that so that we can get a clearer image of what it says.

If you're really interested in what it says, I can but thanks to you, I've already found the doll. It was romanized to Takara. I still don't know why people are so interested in it since even on Ebay it's only about $40 so I think I'm just going to leave it at the $10 I had it like most of the vintage dolls. I was just worried that I was selling some limited collectors edition that was worth $200. Had something similar happen already.

Why not try asking them how much they are willing to pay for it? You might get lucky and get $20 instead of $10.

Yeah, and if the particular one I had was like that I might bump the price a little. But I've learned through the process of clearing out her house that you ask for what you can reasonably and quickly get to move things out of the house so you have room to actually move around the room as opposed to asking for what it might possibly sell for to a hardcore collector in which case it may not move for months.

I actually had one guy pay me more for an item than I was asking for it because he knew more about it than I did and didn't want to rip me off. That was a nice little example of human decency.

It's to rare to find people like that, to rare, but i can also understand why people don't.
For me i might give a friend $150-$200 for an item they sell for $10 but is worth the $200, but if it's a stranger i might just pay the $10 and be done with it. I will also say depending on what i know about that person's circumstanses i might even go as far as giving close to full worth (mostly depending on what they need the money for)
What i am trying to say here is, make sure that you know the worth of the items before you sell them. So you don't end up selling somthing worth up to $1000 for only $10, and a collection can sell for more than each induvidual pice of the collection added together.
