I find it funny that aggregator sites taking measures to prevent their stolen chapters to being stolen again by another party.

It is funny...but, what does that make us who feed off of people who steal things then mark them so they are not stolen by another party? Something worse.

Well thieves are afraid of their fellow thief. They can gi around stealing others works like they own it, but they definately don't like others doing the same to them.

Reminds me of Spy Vs Spy. It's pretty funny for these site to piggy back on each other. and sometimes promote wrong information at the same time.

As with xianxiaworld, I am sure that some wonderful readers of this community own a pirate site.
How else will they learn anti theft techniques promoted on here?
    Pathetic

I know this is slightly OT, but do aggregator sites even earn money? As far as I know ad provider like adsense only pay out after ~3 months... and only after the site which uses it gets manually cleared by them. (so simply reporting them would most likely make adsense make stop the partnership)

And I believe most people who use aggregator sites would use ad/ublock, noscript, etc.. anyway to make it unviable for them anyway.

I just don't see them earning money.

And there are ways to trick their bots.
For example putting text in <these types of brackets> will remove large chunks of the text. (< & > can just be the same as the background color)

Just wondering... totally not planning to start another one.... oops.

Not that I use aggregator sites often, but I've seen them failing to bypass < & > on a regular basis. For example whenever (in the raaaare cases I am on a aggregator site for research purpose only) in RI the line "<<The Legends of Ren Zu>> " appears, it will end up as "< >" with text chunks missing.

Using this kind of mechanic translators could add < & >'s every once in a while to make it unenjoyable for readers on aggregator sites. People who know more about programming/the bots they use to copy the chapters automatically, could most likely find more ways to trick the bot with little effort.

(A bad watermark/copy protection would be to add "read only at xxx.com, or it's stolen!" after every sentence, which breaks the reading flow when somebody is using the night/dark mode on their site... Hell, I have used aggregators before, simply because the anti-theft system was too annoying to keep reading at the original site)

well, that's what ive heard from the other translators. If you wanna be all out in preventing aggregators, id recommend @GM_Rusaku way of dealing this problem.

I don't really get what you mean by this. I only clicked two links, but it looks like he/she/it stopped translating? (last release january)

So the solution would be to stop translating the moment aggregators add your novel? o_O

Post part 1 of any chapters following the NU guidelines so it could be displayed on NU.
Post part 2 of any chapters but break the guidelines so it will not show up in NU.

Since only translators knows the link to part two, I guess It may stop them. Let me know if anyone tried this befoe
