i have the audio drama, but I never heard of the stage play. Any link? I am not sure about utsukushii koto movie adaptation, since the actor must be really good to convey the feeling. I think Hako no Naka with its dramatic plot would be a better choice for adaptation

It should be easy enough to do as a small-time production at college level. A paragraph with a few small sentences can lasts for minutes and depending on how you represent the scenes it can take close to hours. You mentioned how it's a college level task, a movie, but didn't mention if there is an expected minimum time, development, casts, or budgets allocated to it. So I go for the easiest one to do, if you can give more details on what they're looking for, maybe we can come up with something else?
