i was reading "One Punch of Justice" and a question hit me too hard not to ask. How much more powerful will be Saitama if he knew Martial Arts?
Unnecessary. One punch litterally solves it all. Martial arts would just make him look too show off like
Let me ask you this, how strong would a sun exploding supernova be if you added a nuclear missile to it? Martial arts by concept is about maximizing efficiency, mostly by targeting weak points or flowing with nature (like minimizing air resistance) or using your opponents movements. One punchman's output of strength is so high, the natural resistances are irrelevant. The only way it would help him is if he is fighting someone on his level so he could use skill to minimize damage to himself while maximizing damage to the opponent. But it won't make him and more powerful.
Saitama is already infinitely powerful. Adding martial arts isn't going to increase his power at all.
It's not a matter of powerful, but competence. Cape Baldy has an already overpowering physique, and limitless energy, as the manga shows. Learning martial arts won't change his power level, but it will increase his efficiency in eliminating enemies. The problem is that, the Strongest Hero does not need to learn martial arts. Even before his limit breaking, he already could contend with monsters of wolf or demon class, using sharp battle instincts and steel wit. Plus, after his limit breaking, he for in fact, likes to tank hits from his enemies, because boredom and expectation. The only time he would actually learn martial arts would be if he was serious type of fella, but he's not. He can increase his speed and reflexes, as his enemy increases theirs to combat him. There is no need for art, all raw power breaking limits. His strength is lowered at the initial fight, and he increases the power of his strength, the longer the battle goes. His strongest feat is diffusing continental-level or likely planetary-level attack at most, just by the wind pressure, without his fist physically coming in contact with the energy beam. Another example would be how his fight against Genos in outskirts of the city. Though he can still die, if you take away his means of breathing. That said, physicality-wise, One Punch Man is invincible for now.
Martial Arts is using skill to defeat strength. Historically, oppressed peoples invented martial arts to resist invaders and conquerors. Not the case here.
Whats the point? Saitama just bulldoze through everything with a single punch anyway. If he can use normal punch to obliterate a dragon level monster, how is punching with a slightly cooler pose and name is any different if the result is the same?
Adding 1 to an infinite number, does it make a different? None There, that's your answer. He's just too powerful, adding a bit doesn't affect it at all. The result is still the same.
Martial arts are fighting techniques humans designed to more efficiently fight and/or eliminate other humans or whatever other threats there are. Looked at another way (a purely primal and worship of strengthening the body and stuff), tools, tactics, martial arts, weapons, and other artificial stuff are methods for the weak and the truly strong have no need of such things. Basically, if there is a martial art that wouldn’t hinder Saitama from fully using his strength and could even more effectively apply it (unlikely as his control of his body can be considered perfection, and while his moves might seem basic, they are effective and have no excess; for example, when he sparred with genos, he was able to stop his punch from hurting him while only damaging the surrounding mountain and even just the fact that he doesn’t break everything in his daily life is a testament to his control) he could be stronger. But does he really need it? That is the point of Saitama, he is already so strong that he can barely find anyone who can take a normal punch, and no one has taken a serious punch and could still fight. So becoming stronger is putting the cart before the horse so to speak.
It's like the Kenpachi meme from before his Bankai was revealed in Bleach. Just from shouting "Bankai", the world is doom.
He didn't even die from zero pressure of the outer space, so this is questionable. Saitama may be able to hold his breath for a year
