    Cultivation.

Don't get me wrong, I think a story about farming could be pretty interesting alright, but authors that try to depict cultivation always fail horribly and end up with gods instead of tomatoes, so I decided to not read those.

Slavery. The absolute worst trope in Japanese fantasy, by far. Pretty much an instant drop every time, honestly.

    Was, a very strong word~

Well, I also don't read anything with quadruple digits worth of chapters... I just don't have that much free time available.

the comedy tag is used here without any sort of prudence which is sad

as long as there is a hint of something funny, even if it isn't, the tag comedy will be added to it.

if there is a huge number of people fighting with the novels "fans" who want that tag in, they will sneak in the comedic undertone tag, which is why all sort of novels such as tragedy where comedy isnt supposed to be part of, has the tag.

it is also the tag for romance and harem. as long as it's 1 boy + 2 girls going on adventures together, even if they dont like each other = harem

if thers a FMC and MC = romance 100% even if they hate each other

    CEO, it's a wish-fulfilment.
    I got transported/reincarnated/transmigrated, it's generic isekai.
Peerless, World's Best, it's another generic xianxia.

Honestly, if the authors did not bother about giving their novels a proper, insightful and meaningful names, their works would probably be trash and not worth reading.

I am so annoyed by this that I swear my next book is going to be about a generic OP transmigrator going into a fantasy world with slavery, and then do the only reasonable thing any sane person growing up in the modern world would do and light the place up like the second coming of Spartacus (with maybe a slightly less crucifixion-tastic ending).

As for the words that annoy me, the ones that really grind my gears are not the overly verbose Japanese LN titles, but the incredibly generic chinese xianxia/xuanhuan titles. Added points when the actual descriptions are just as generic, to the point where they just bombard you with pseudo-philosophical ramblings about the dao and immortality and how powerful the MC becomes through cultivation without telling you anything about the actual plot or characters.

If you see the Comedy Genre in a novel that should not have it, please remove it. You can add the Comedic Undertone tag if you think it's fitting.

Harem on NU means Multiple Love Interests, if they don't like each other (or at least one party has one-sided feelings for the other) you should remove the genre.

Romance genre should only be used on actual romance novels, use Romantic Subplot instead if Romance is not the focus of the novel.

Lastly, Female Protagonist by no means forces the novel to have the Romance Genre, you can use the Series Finder if you're interested in finding anything that fits that criteria.

    "Wife"
To me it guarantees that either the female lead will get raped or worse a peerless genius becomes a housewife.
If I wanted to consume stories about housewives I would watch soap operas
