Suuuuuure, christians only get censored in the christian fantasy stories like God Is Not Dead and the like, cause if they are not oppressed they feel like they are not christianing right so they invent the evil cabal of atheists ruling the world from the shadows, which is actually pretty amusing, kinda like an Iron Sky script

But about the censorship, i heard there was this meditation/exercise called Fang Gong (or something like that) which got banned and prosecuted because a member of the party wanted more power and required an enemy to justify receiving more power so he created this idea of fang gong being subversive and dangerous... and it worked, with the guy receiving special powers and his own national task force, so this may be another side effect of the party members having a measuring contest and trying to get a prettier office

TL;DR
For fellow translators, the crackdown this time is rather big.
Points of interest for readers:
1) Nothing sexual beneath the neck, whether daydreams, failed sexy times, or allusions as such.
2) No gov/military corruption, or anything that casts gov in bad light.
3) No danmei. Possible jail time.
4) No military related romance due to over-exaggeration. Topics encouraged: Lighthearted, slice-of-life novels. Xianxia w/out too much gore. Modern easy reading. Sci-fi (but copyright to be examined in next round of crackdown) cont.

Things that are supposed to have "bad influence" tend to get censored or at least get age-restricted in many countries.
It's a sad direction the things in China are heading to but overall if you're not living there, only a minority would notice any changes.

People lose jobs for praying in public over there meals. Christians are being persecuted. We might not be getting killed and burned alive in America. However lose of jobs. False testimony this is a thing happening each and every day. Businesses being closed down.

Toning down the content? that would drive away plenty of the audience, i mean, we read those that are plain power fantasies just because of the cool factor so eliminating that just turns them into the average mediocre works we all pretend them not to be

Going into satire? thats always a good internet weapon

But i guess there is a bigger chance of the authors plagiarizing themselves and re doing their works as an "improved version" only to cash on it again...
