Everyone go read the recent development on Wanderer's Twitter. It's a potentially big deal, so you should try to keep up to date with things as they move forward.

 

Dang a C&D notice for second coming? This series is as good as gone then. Those publishers will charge a lot of money for translation rights. And it looked one of the popular ones too at the Korean site.

Maybe they are going to do official translations? or just stopping fan translation. The same thing happened with solo leveling.

 

I received an email about a group having licensed SCOA and plans on translating it officially. The C&D must be a part of that?
They said they would do an advanced chapter model with a minimum of a chapter a day. But re-translating from the beginning might kill the interest...

Since you actually pay for the original chapters, I wonder if you have the rights to translate and share it... Might be one of the areas where the legislation hasn't caught up yet.

But isn't Solo Leveling still being translated?

Then the talks he's having with them right now could be about him continuing as a translator but under their name with the series, like how he's doing Solo Leveling for Qidian. Do you know what the group is called that licensed it? Also, I hate when people basically sweep the rug out from under fantranslators like their doing everyone a favor. By which I mean they wait for a fantranslator to get the series hyped up in the western or English market and then license it so they can profit off everything the fantranslator has done to help the series become more popular.

 

They didn't seem like a huge company, so licensing talks must have been going for months at the very least (unless they have a special connection with the publisher). We know how long it's taking WuxiaWorld to get licenses...

SCOA is really famous in Korea too, so it's not all that surprising.

 

But what group is it?

 

They didn't give me a name. They just said they're lauching their own website soon. Looks like they got the license first?
