    Is it a nostalgic feeling?
how would you translate the sentence in red? thanks.

Mate I thought you are asking for translation, not being philosophical and asking, what are feelings? that's deep

情怀 is a relatively neutral word used to describe any sort of feelings. In this context, this old animator feels very strongly about the havoc in heaven version of the monkey king.

Edit: It does not seem to specifically refer to nostalgia
Edit2: On second thought, it could be implied nostalgia because the 1965 edition could be a work which was popular during this animator's time.

Edit3: I would translate the second sentence as: His best work is of the 1965 "Havoc in Heaven" version of the Monkey King, which he feels strongly for.

Not sure, I think something like:
These are the feelings of the older generation
    or
This is what the older generation felt like

Nostalgic attachment is the closest thing, but there's also the pride of being the creator of the piece. There aren't really words to describe everything except a general statement like "The kind of feeling any experienced animator/artist has for a timeless creation."

Personally, I suggest you translate it into words like " nostalgia" , because the word 情怀 has been used to refer to quite a lot of things. You like to buy something, keep a habit, believe in a concept... These can be called 情怀.
In this sentence, I think the author wants to express that the old man is used to the old version of Monkey King, nostalgia may be more accurate.
