(But if you consider that to be gay...well, fuck, I guess.) Anyway, some of these don't even have romance in it...2nd, 5th, and 6th most probably...at least so far in the story it doesn't...and the romance in the 3rd one is a bit complicated so I don't really know what to say. (The MC reincarnates as the person he's in love with.) I know a few...well, actually a lot more...but I didn't name them because either the characters don't come from another world and is from that world originally, or I don't like the novel very much. (Tell me if you need more gender bender, you'll not find anyone more knowledgeable on that topic here than me.)
Are you looking for a slice-of-life, building an empire, or something like revenge? Have you tried reading world hopping series too? Also "Isekai" generally means another world so I'm assuming it all reincarnation and transmigration and such. I kind stepped away from Isekai and more into enjoying Korean novels as I was sick and tired of doormat protagonists. Second Life Ranker Praise the Orc Everyone else is a returnee Infinite Competitive Dungeon Society The Second Coming of Avarice I Alone Level Up I reincarnated for nothing The Novel's Extra FFF-Class Trashero A Monster who levels up Return of the 8th Class Mage If you're purely after Isekai, then I'd recommend putting the following on your reading list if you haven't already: Mushoku Tensei World Strongest Rearguard The Spearmaster and the Black Cat Death Mage (although that's surely on your list already) Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Itte kara 10 Nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita Manuke FPS My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s Isekai ni Kita Boku wa Kiyoubinbode Subaya-sa Tayorina Tabi o Suru
do you not care about anything as long as it's isekai or do you have any thoughts on what would make isekai novel good for you? e.g., is there some genre/tags you avoid or prefer?
Since what "good" constitutes in fiction eludes me, I'm just going to say "My Yandere Succubus Daughter is Mommy Warrior's Natural Enemy." Schemes? Check. Politics? Check. MC living the grey-zone life? Check? Money and business? Check. Romance? Check. No power cheats? Check. Is that information of practical?
Tensei Shoujo no Rirekisho - It is one of the definitions of overlooked isekai. Why? - MC has no powers/cheats, just their brain - MC does not start out as some noble, but a commoner of a throw away village - And that world the MC is in that was based on magic is losing its magic, so the plot is the MC reforming that world away from reliance on magic to technology - Technology is not invented overnight and actually takes time, it is also inferior to magic - The novel is a very simple read, but at same time there is a deep underlining tone
mondaiji-tachi ga isekai kara kuru sou desu yo? and its sequel Last Embryo it feels like noone ever remember that its an isekai, and its one of the best out there tbh
